Exactly! Don't jump on people until you know the facts.

The pic reads Sioux Lookout, and besides, know one said he kept it. I don't remember the regs saying you can't catch a fish out of season. I'm sure if that were the case, we all would be arrested. Nice fish!

Upper James Street Hamilton, North of Fennell on the left hand side. Across from Frisco's. Thanks, Mark

That picture is a fake and it is certainly not from Ontario. First, that deer isn't a Whitetail and that is all we have here. Second, a cougar would never get that close to a deer without it sensing it. Mark

Hi, I have a Jiffy 30, with the word FirePower on the blade. Long story short, I ripped off the blade and bent the hell out of the bottom. I want to fix it myself but I don't remember exactly how it looked. If anyone could send me some pics of the bottom of this auger, I would really appreciate it. It is an older model as well....maybe 10 years??? Thanks, Mark [email protected]

Way to go, Tony. Another pound and you would have had the truck too! What did you catch it on?

Hello, I am new to downrigging. I've only been out 4 times. I haven't even had a rod fire yet. I see people catching fish but not me. Does anyone have any advice as to the depth I should be fishing at this time of year? I have been running cut bait with spin doctors up until this point at 70ft in 90-120ft of water. Is it time for spoons? How much line should I be running from the clip?

french river lodge/fishing lower french river
Bigworm replied to mover's topic in General Discussion
Mover, Just got back on Tuesday. I've stayed there before and always had a good time. River has slot sizes so you will be keeping a lot of smaller walleye if you want a fish fry. If you are going after the big boys, they are there, just need to put you time in. Scenery is beautiful. Lights out at 11:00 so bring lanterns. They are very hospitable and will help you out any way they can. Cabins are........ well let's just say they are fishing cabins. We come in from Hartley Bay marina. They will pick you and all your gear up from there and bring you to the island. Have fun and good luck. P.S There is an island right out fromt of the cabins. Nice and close and always good walleye fishing. Yellow jig and worm. If you are trolling for the big boys, there is a whole stretch of islands just out from the "s-turn" that has Canadian record written all over it. lol Mark -
HI, We rent a cottage there 3 times a year. We will be going there for opener. Primarily pike is what you will catch. We have also caught smallmouth. I believe at the mouth of the river would be your best bet for pickeral however, we have too much fun with the pike and not enough patience for the waiting game. I'm not an expert on the lake, that is just my opinion. Mark

Hey Gerritt, Heading to the cottage tomorrow. Hoping to sneak in one last ice fishing adventure. I think I am going to head down to the perch derby though. May see you there. Did you move?

I have had that same picture e-mailed to me and it states that the picture was taken in Nova Scotia, not in the Kawarthas. However, I've seen almost as many up there as well. Mark

Hi All, Can you still get out on the ice or is that asking too much? Haven't heard much in a while from up that way. Thanks, Mark

Hi Guys, Does the boat registration #'s have to be on both sides of the boat or only one side? Thanks, Mark

Hi Guys, I have long been pondering the idea of taking my 14.5 foot alunimum out onto Lake O for some Salmon. Last year I bought all the equipment for it but haven't used it once. I have all summer off and would like to get out at least once to see how this whole thing works...and mabey even catch a fish. I figure with light winds/no winds, I could get out far enough without getting into trouble. I live in Hamilton and, from what I've read, I should be able to find some fish out of Bronte, Oakville or 50 point. The boat is a Grummann and is made of heavy aircraft aluminum. I am running a 15 Evinrude. Any suggestions would be much appreciated and if anyone has done this with a small boat before and is experienced in downrigging, shoot me an e-mail and mabey we can get out. [email protected] Thanks, Mark
