  1. I use the gamkatsu finesse wide gap weedless for my wacky worm setup. http://www.gamakatsu.com/fishing-hooks.php?pid=1037 they are great for fishing in the weeds and everywhere. Or you can also try their wacky worm hook called the wicked wacky. http://www.gamakatsu.com/fishing-hooks.php?pid=1047
  2. daiwa samurai is a great line. it costs more but is worth it. I wish there was a hi vis colour they made like a white or yellow but besides that it's great. It's slicker than regular PP and PP slick, IMO, which means more casting distance.
  3. I have the frabil power stow net, its the 36" slide model. The mesh is very good. Very few hooks get caught and if they do they come out easily.
  4. I've tried super slick. never bought another spool. I only use the regular power pro. I found that the super slick was too soft and frayed easily.
  5. Why fluoro? because its completely invisible underwater so the fish don't see it and get spooked. It's a finesse thing.
  6. I always use an albright knot to tie braid to fluoro. Best and easiest ti tie in my opinion.
  7. don't go with fenwick. they are known for snapping. stick with a nice shimano clarus or convergence, great rods for the money. for the reel stick with a shimano, will never let you down.
  8. i always run at least 5 feet of 10lb flouro for everything. I tie my braid to it with an albright knot.
  9. guelph lake has a ton of bass in it. Great for canoes and kayaks. Mountsberg has a lot of pike, they're everywhere. I have seen a few decent sized bass in kelso.
  10. Slippery Winds wilderness resort in NW Ontario. Got all of your listed fish. Lakers, bass, musky, pike, walleye. http://www.gwnlodges.com/Slippery_Winds/Slippery_Winds.html
  11. I was just wondering If there were any other options. I got the ice ducer free with my finder. Thanks for the replies
  12. Does anybody know if there is or if somebody makes any transducer arms that bolt into the humminbird portable base? For ice fishing purposes.
  13. anybody have any experience or any opinions on the okuma C3-40X bass rod (green)? https://www.okumafishing.com/product/view/rods/tournament-bass/c3-40x Thanks
  14. thanks for the input. BTW does anyone know the conditions in the Minets Point area?
  15. are the Kbay perch only in the 30-40 FOW range or do they go deeper? I know where the lakers are and just wondering as I wanted to keep a little one busy but also try my luck at some more lakers and keep the travelling to a minimum, especially having to cart a 6yr old.
  16. the best line to line knot is the ALBRIGHT. Very simple yet very effective, all you have to do it wet it then tighten. I use this all the time and never fails. http://videofishingknots.com/albright-knot.html hope this helps
  17. Broke my 2011 Legend Tournament Bass and went to jb's. I think my dad said it was 60 for the replacement. That was around early august, we finally go the rod back in the new year. Even when Steven(the owner) had one in stock he told my dad to come back next week to pick it up.
  18. Thanks guys for your inputs. Gonna get one for sure soon.
  19. Thanks guys, ive been looking in investing in one for this season.
  20. what are you guys thoughts on the pflueger president reel? I've read a bunch of good reviews on this reel. There are guys that say that they were all shimano before until they picked up one of these So i would like to hear all of your opinions. Thx
