  1. Laugh all you want.... :whistling:

I seen the add and made one from a coathanger.... and it makes a difference while reeling in a crankbait or spoon....especially for Pike...can't say it makes a difference for any other species.

The line must be unclipped while fighting the fish.....but I must admit It takes a while to get used to the pulsations while reeling ... doesn't feel natural.

To each his own... it seems to work for me.

  2. Eh! In general oil isn't equal.... here's a secret...

Shell Oil is also Quaker State and Pennzoil, based out of in Texas.... my sales rep has a Shell Jacket on a Pennzoil shirt and a Quaker hat on his head when he walks through my door.

as for Oil ... if past warranty use a well priced "BRANDED"... TCW3 rated 2 stroke oil ...

Castrol Super 2 stroke 500ml is 3.49$ at my shop...not available in 946ml.

    Pennzoil 946ml..4.99/ L

    Evinrude XD50/ gal ...34.99 XD100...44.95

    Amzoil Fully Synthetic...Injection Oil....7.29/L... 28.99/ gal

    Royal Purple......8.99 /L..........34.99/gal

should be about the same ...everywhere

Oil Prices do fluctuate with the barrel price.

    Happy Mixing..

  3. I suggest that you try to not go too cheap when it comes to LED.... try to stick to companies like

GROTE or Uni-Bond ...that's the stuff that fleet companies use ... and the stuff that I sell every day.

Try to buy a high count LED....tighter grouping of diodes ... diodes in these lights are connected in

groups of 3 - 6...if one burns out 3 or 6 go out...thus decreasing the service intervals = more diodes less servicing. LED units are all sealed...use a dielectric grease at the connection though..

LED does not get hot so put 'em in the lake.

A good High Count 4'' stop & tail LED should run you about 50$ per side this includes the grommet and the connector.... the economy version should run at about 35$ per side..

you can get these at any Jobber store like ...Auto Parts Extra [ Benson' ]... Auto Sense...NAPA

    CTC....

    :Gonefishing: In the rain..

  4. my boat was in the water when i fixed mine...In fact I was in a Tournament while fixing it..

my impeller sucked up a Mr Twister and got jammed...while I had 5 fish in the box..

took all of 20 minutes with a pair of pliers and some tape..all 5 fish survived.

....Put a plug in the inlet of your pump.... disconnect the plumbing and electrical...

remove pump ... inspect. clean... replace...remove plug and test .. if it doesn't work ... go get a new one should run you about 35$..

What kind of boat do you have ?... usually a aluminum deluxe model is pretty easy... but if it's a big fibreglass I/O tub that's a different story ...some of those pumps are invisible and hidden behind the inboard....

    Good Luck there eh !

    Randy

  5. I fish Nipissing and such for smallies, walleye, muskie, and pike but usually go to Talon/Diver for Rainbow.. no kidding.

I go in spring when everything else is closed.

Talked to a Bud who lives on Talon and is doing good right now for everything that swims...this is not the case for everyone though.....

fish pops usually tend to move around as the seasons change who knows how it'll be in August..

If this rain don't stop who knows where they'll be....

I struggling right now on my usual spots.

    Good Luck in August !!

Je commence mes sorties au Musky la semaine prochaine.. sans doute dans les meme coins de la

    French que toi..

    English version:

Congratulations on the beautiful specimens nice catch you have there!

I'm starting my Musky season next week..you can bet I'll be fishing the same areas of the French as you did.

  7. City Should Pay !! :clapping: :clapping:

Bang it out......should be done with a dolly. cut or grind off stretched aluminum....patch it from the inside with a new piece of the same gage aluminum..use an adhesive instead of rivets..fill in with an aluminum body filler..like you would on a car..complete the body work...smooth ...wetsand ... prime ... paint to match....and then put a OFC sticker over it.. :thumbsup_anim:

If you wanna go the best way... Tig in the patch.. a good welder can do this without warping the sheet metal...he'll grind it smooth and then you complete the bodywork.

As for replacing the whole side of the boat that's a load of carp!! Will they lend your buddy a boat for the rest of the summer...

    Randy

  8. :whistling: :whistling:

Wait 'til the week before you come up here ... and then ask your question.. ;)

But to answer your question... yes they are biting now...

Walleye tend to move ...I will be able to give you a concrete answer in a month or so,

Where are you gonna stay?...fishing from which Lodge?

No, but I really always keep the stuff to a minimum but always have what I'll need ...small tackle boxes for a quick evening on the river.. or a vest armed to the eyes that weighs as much as my tackle box and anchor combined...[ not good to wear under or over a lifejacket unsafe in a canoe]

    :stretcher: :stretcher:

If you coming wit da cano... put da stuff you need in de tupperware ting it float and make less of messes in da cano. :canadian: :canadian:..

  11. Fellas,

I live up on the North Shore - just moved last year - between SF & NB. East of Manitous, South Shore, SF & French are just a REAL long ride (and we all know how rough that open deep trench can be) so I tend to stick to the North Shore, Jocko reefs and the Goose/burritt shelf on calm days...Last year had some good solid fishing most of the season...this year just seems like it's a little slower up this way - still quality fish just not quite as many. Granted it's been a crappy June for rain&wind....I just found the board and with the weather seemingly taking a turn for the better wanted to see if anyone's had any luck on the north shore, middle islands.

Just talked to a buddy 20 minutes ago and he caught 11 tonight and kept 6 while backtrollin' with a worm harness off the west side of island # ? J**k* Pt. apparently there's a few rock piles there .......white Sylvan 14 ft / 20 hp merc.... tonight was the night ..he's usually in at 10 and tonight was in at 8:30....

  12. fishing has slowed down on the North Shore near Sturgeon.... the south side like nearer the mouth of the French are doing very good this past week..the reefs just west of the GOOSES are good right now very productive.... better have a big boat it's been very windy lately..

    :Gonefishing: :Gonefishing:

    Good Luck

    Randy from Sturgeon.

  13. I'm in ... I couldn't make it 2 weeks ago I was in a Tourney.... no Tourney in September...

and easier to get an extra day off.

Walleye , Pike & Muskie not to mention the Smallies are all on the feed bag at that time.

  14. Yep you're looking at the brighter side of things...

According to the MNR Nipissing just got back up on it's feet in the past few years after near depletion.... now they've gone and broken it's legs...what a pity.

If the market sells 1 walleye for 8 $ .... the REBEL NATIVE will sell his his for 5$ thus causing a

black market for Walleye... I know this is already being done and has been for decades...

I surprised that none of our members aren't raising a bigger stink about this topic.

    Randy.

  15. The market price this week is $14 a pound or just over $3 per 100 grams.

One group bought more than $200 worth of fillets for an impromptu fish fry for 30 people at the workplace.

taken from the NORTH BAY NUGGET.

HOW MANY WALLEYE DOES IT TAKE TO FEED 30 PEOPLE??????

ARE THESE FISH IN THE SLOT SIZE ???? DOES THIS MEAN THAT IF I WANNA EAT A 22" WALLEYE

I'LL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT? IF I KEEP ONE AND GET CAUGHT YOU BET I'LL PAY FOR IT!!!

A HECK OF A LOT MORE THAN BUYING IT A THE MARKET !!!

THIS IS VERY VERY BAD NEWS FOR NIPISSING....YOU'LL HAVE PEOPLE FROM ALL AROUND COMING TO BUY FRESH WALLEYE....TERRIBLE.

    :wallbash: :wallbash:

  16. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

    STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!!!!!

NET THE FISH TO FEED YOUR FAMILY.....IS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE ....NOT TO MAKE PROFIT AND TURN AROUND AND BUY STEAK AT LOEB!!!

NEXT THING YOU KNOW THERE'LL BE A MOOSE AND DEER MARKET RIGHT BESIDE THE FISH MARKET....

WHERE'S ALL THE PIKE, BASS , MUSKIES, AND COARSE FISH??? THERE NOT FOR SALE I'LL BET!!

    JUST WALLEYE & MAYBE WHITEFISH?

THERE IN THE DUMP OFF OF HWY 17... MOOZE OR MUUKWA MIIKUN ROAD...which one I forget.

RANDY [ NORTH SHORE OF LAKE NIPISSING] FROM STURGEON.
