  1. Hi,

I spent last weekend with a couple of friends out on the ice near Lonely island, south shore lk. Nippissing. Friday afternoon showed very nice weather, so we fished outdoors and enjoyed the sunshine. Saturday the weather took a drastic change with temperatures around -30c with the wind chill and the winds were blowing between 70-80kmph. Not very nice for a day that was suppost to be -5c and sunny. We sat in the hut all day Saturday had a few refreshments and told all kinds of war stories (some fishing stories as well, but Iam not too sure about the story of the 60lb Musky):). The fishing was very poor and we ended up with one jumbo perch, a dozen normal small perch, three mud puppies, one pickerl (in slot size and had to put back), and one small cisco. All in all the company was as good as the food, even though the fishing was not.

    Cheers,

  2. In stead of putting 20$ in every two days I'll be putting 30$ ...I'm not gonna change anything.

My wife and I have discussed this and there's nothing we can do about the gas $$$... We need the vehicles we drive and are not about to change our lifestyles because of some greedy gas company.

My Expedition is a PIG on gas... and the wife's Jetta Diesel is a ...GOD on Fuel.... I guess one compensates for the other.

The boat is a boat ... and if ya wanna play ya gotta PAY..... I expect to pay about 15 $ outing this season...... I'll trap my own minnows and pick my own worms to compensate for the gas $$$

  3. If you haven't found 'em yet buy the kids the " ROCKET FISHING ROD" { respool the line with good stuff} goes more than 30 feet... keeps 'em busy nomatter where they fish easy to use ..

As for a good provincial park.... Arrowhead provincial park on hwy 11n probably 2 or so hours from the GTA.....

    good luck..

  4. EH!

Usually a 27 series battery does the trick... If you plan on starting the engine with this battery

buy a Dual Purpose battery. If it is just electronics and or a trolling motor a deep cycle is the what you want....

I sell Exide Stowaways.... I use them and have two for the last 4 years ....I sell them for 72.59$

    # 27 dc700

I also can get you a gel battery..... money wasted if you ask me... more Warranties done on these than any other battery.

I sell ,,, A/C Delco... Exide... Varta ... Penn State..Eveready Energizer.....none are better than the other.

there are 3 major manufacturers of batteries in North America... the rest are just rebranded.

when it comes to a deep cycle battery the life expectancy is relative....It depends on how often you use and charge it,, storing a fully charged battery for the winter has a big role in the battery's life.

charging it every 2 months is recommended... at least test it every two months when not in use.

Get a charging system for your outboard... or a solar charger.

I just got back from a Battery Expo... learned alot and have passed it on..

  5. My buddy has one of these ...they're getting more and more popular in North America " the go-anywhere minivan" Indestructible...3/4 ton chassis nothing underneath to hit full undercarriage

shidplate...2.4l mitsubishi turbo diesel 4 wheel posi-trac...unreal for a minivan ... or any other comparable vehicle for that matter.

parts are getting easier to find but are expensive.... must get used to the right hand drive.

  6. Where or what is Lakair???

Apparently Lakais is the ULTIMATE OFC PARTY!!..... I live just 20 minutes or so away and have missed it from day 1 believe me I'll be there this year.

Hwy 64... west arm lake Nipissing.

  7. Try these I'm selling alot of these too...Dick Cepeck Radial FC II... good long lasting tire..great off road and available in a 31 x 15 ..

Again if you do alot of highway get a tire that has a road hazard warranty ... my Expedition goes

off road more than on - highway... but I can warranty my tire for myself.

If yer in northern ontario with a odd brand tire like Dick Cepek or Micky ... or Doug Thoronly .. or

Maxxis ... orrr ya know what i mean who'll warranty them? It'll cost you a new tire..get one at CTC or Wally world ...may pay a little more for what you get but peace of mind is included.

CTC and Wally world are my competitors...I wouldn't send you there if It wasn't the truth.

If you can forgo the roadhazard warranty .... try this one..

  8. Mickey Thompson Baja Radial ATZ.... I sell tires and autoparts for a living and for that size you shouldn't be paying more than 185$ per tire....I've had those on my Expedition and love 'em.

very agressive and not so noisy on the highway...great in the snow and off road..

but if you do primairily highway driving ...[i'm gonna kick myself for saying this]

radial rough rider radian all terrain M+S @ canadian tire.... there I said it.. roadhazard warranty and there ctc's everywhere.

  9. Well.... we got an inch of snow late last nite.... does that count??? Im glad I live in the North.. it never snows up here???? :dunno:

EH! T.J ... are you sure it wasn't closer to 1 1/2 inches I had to turn on my wipers to get rid of the snow this morning...

Absolutely ridiculous !! barely any snow in the NORTH.... esti.....just ice.

    :canadian:

    Randy.

  10. EH!

Unfortunately the big 2 {dodge never made one} no longer make a Truck Based Mini Van...like the Ford Aerostar based on a Ranger platform...quit making those when they introduced the Windstar.

The chevy Astro AWD is a S-15 ... They made those 'til 2005 I beleive... so you can find a good used one I'm sure... the 4.3 l v6 is a good powerplant but kinda hard on gas when pushed.

    parts are pretty cheap...reliable.

Forget about a Caravan AWD ..Dodge Intrepid based... they suck!!! period. drivetrain is fragile very very break down prone.

Believe me I sell parts for a living... I see what's good and what is crap.

I believe LEW, from the Board here has an Astro AWD or a Safari AWD..he tows a big boat..

but if your looking for the ultimate minivan......

check out the " MITSUBISHI DELICA" on YOUTUBE....

    dang' amazing.

  11. I'm glad to hear this report from someone who knows the lake. Last May was the first time we fished Red Cedar and we did OK for walleye. But I think this was mainly due to the weather. It got real cold, real fast on Saturday night until the sun peeked out on Sunday afternoon.

At least that's what I'll blame it on!

We mainly fished the southern portion of the lake, not far from the access to MHL. Thinking of giving the northern portion some more attention. Any recommendations?

    sent you P.M...

    anybody wondering what it is?
