  2. It's not a hard job...

Pull the fan shroud off the engine..5/16 socket I think... then take the exhaust off..3/8 allan wrench.

Take the plugs out... then take the heads off...1/2" or 9/16 I forget.

Tap the Cylinders lightly with a " Bob Malette " rubber mallet and pull them off ...

    What do you see?...

My guess is that the right hand side piston has blown.. that's right on the fan side.

due to the Nylon gear that runs the Oil Injection.. or the fan belt slipped while wet.

    I've blown the 368cc{ 377 } .. the 447 {439 i think} and of course the 497 {503}

    Usually an easy 350.00 job.

  3. here ya go...

    Alternate forms

commonly known as the tiger muskellunge[1] (Esox masquinongy x lucius or Esox lucius x masquinongy[2], depending on the gender of each of the contributing species). In the hybrids, the males are almost invariably sterile although the females are sometimes fertile.[3] Another form of northern pike, the silver pike, is not a subspecies but rather a mutation that occurs in scattered populations. Silver pike, sometimes called silver muskellunge, lack the rows of spots and appear silver, white, or silvery-blue in color. (Craig, 1).

    Wikipedia.

Various other unofficial trivial names are: American pike, common pike, great northern pike, Great Lakes pike, grass pike, slough shark, snake, northern, and jackfish. Numerous other names can be found in Field Museum Zool. Leaflet Number 9.

  4. I think last time this came up we concluded that it was just a colouring thing and the fish are actually no different?

    Absolutely right!!! :thumbsup_anim:

Same as calling a Blue colored Walleye a Blue Pickerel....or did ya ever catch a Perch that was almost black?

I know of a lake in Marten River where a Walleye's mouth and eyes are of a purple tinge.. and the supposed yellowish markings are Orange....They eat Crayfish and live in stained water.

Green vs Bronze.. Smallie? Rock Pile vs Weedbed.

It all has to do with the environment.... but some will argue that the fish was caught along with a bunch of "Normal" colored fish out of the same spot.... Who knows maybe he was "visiting for the weekend"... could live on the mudflat 35 yards beside the weedbed...?

    Same species for sure.

The show in question was filmed in the Marten River area....these "Silver Pike" are rather common if you're a Pike angler....

Cache Bay on Lake Nipissing is a good example of the "Silver Pike " phenomena. You'll find that the Silver coloration primarily is found on a Juvenile Pike under 21" or so . I've seen a few that were bigger but not many...

  5. I spoke to a friend of mine and he said that a 2 wheel drive quad pulls him and his hut out no problem. The quad might cost me a bit more. I am looking at a 1986 Moto 4 for about 1200.00.

Too old too much.... there are better deals to be found.. a little more $$$ and alot better quality.

As for the question you asked ...depends on the amount of snow that is on the lake and are you blazing your own trail..

You wouldn't get too far without a fight on Nipissing right now with a 4 wheeler...or any northern lake for that matter..

In the conditions we have now a sled for sure.

But on the other hand a 4 wheeler ATV can be used year round.

Toss a coin and see how it lands... in my opinion ATV vs Sled in winter just to go fishing... all depends on the conditions.

  6. 55 power guide .....longer cable can be controlled from the back of the boat.. auto -pilot ... or wireless.

Cable steer can pretty much only be used at the bow... had one didn't like it returned to electric.

Although I had a much faster response with the cable steer... still prefer electric.

Buy good batteries.. keep 'em topped up .. that motor will pull your boat and it's occupants around the lake all day...at any speed.

  7. Hey Randy! Quite the running light you've got in that tracker, Bud.

Yes sure is ... cost me an arm and a leg to get that installed..overpasses are hard to negotiate. Deep Cycles aren't lasting I wonder if it's the brand.. .

  8. Here's mine again....9.5 hwy goes anywhere ... cold air .. special Magnaflow custom exhaust...

Edge performance programmer..Performance Mass Air Flow Sensor ..Throttlebodyspacer.A Tornado for better mileage :wallbash: 392.6 Hp WHP...@ 4950 rpm...you roll it I'll smoke it. AWD prevents it from spinning on pavement.

Micky Thompson 33" Off Road Tires... 9.5MPG... the most I've ever got was 15 mpg...

I even bought it It's very own BBQ.

THE REASON I BOUGHT IT ' CAUSE I LIKED IT!!!!!!!! and still do !!!

As for the , Ford , Chevy & GM , Dodge, Toyota ,battle.

NOBODY WILL EVER WIN THE ARGUMENT!!!!

I sell parts for a living and have done so for a while now.. I've also spent 4 yrs under a hoist.

I've come to notice that the brand doesn't really matter nowadays.... they're all inferior products as their pre - decesors ....

What matters is how you maintain your vehicle.. let it be a Jetta or a Ford S/D F350 4x4 .

As for inherent problems ...Like a front end or tranny on a Chevy.. a tranny on a Dodge.. rear end on the Ford...Transfer case and Crankshaft on the Toyota?.... .

Some are better at doing this or that... but in the end none are really better than the rest.

    Just my 2 cents.
