  1. I had an older 40 merc that weighed 135lbs ... I'm not saying that I would take it on a portage or anything it was definitely heavy... I now do the same with a '98 Evinrude 30 that weighs 114lbs

I take it off the trailered 14 and put it on the Tinny 14 when I go fishin' in the bush.... still not something I would want to carry very far..

I bolt it on to my Trailered 14 when i get home.

  2. If you call It a TINNY... I assume it's 12-14 foot... to me anything that isn't stern drive and bolted onto your transom is portable within certain horse classes for me a 40 Tiller is portable.

for some it's too heavy....if you can carry it it's portable, if you bolt it to the transom it becomes less portable.

Did it last season pretty easy stuff.. job held up good and didn't look bad...no leaks.

You may rent an electric hammer to facilitate things.

  4. Sorry for the BPS comment......

Last time I was there had a weird experience with an older guy in the fly shop....

Otherwise all my visits were great and made my wife mad.. :thumbsup_anim::clapping:

    Nothing wrong with BPS..

    Randy...

  5. I've had my share of ..freshwater fish in my tank 55 gallon... Largemouth... Walleye. Pike Trout & Perch are hard to keep alot of the color has to do with the temperature of the water....colder/darker warmer/lighter....color of water has alot to do with it too...and don't forget the habitat.

I've been to BPS several times looking at the tank and must agree with you they kinda look pale..

they might even have a filtration or chlorine problem... who knows??

Try asking while you're there....test the "knowledgeable" staff @ BPS....Inquiring minds wanna know..

    Randy..

  6. Unload, pretty much the same, tie 25 feet of launch rope to the winch leg, undo all straps and safety chain, inspect launch, back up, tap brakes, boat slides off, drive fwd, get out tie off the boat, go park. Load, back trailer into water just touching the rear center roller to water, hook winch strap to bow eye, crank, saftety chain, go park somewhere out of the way and finish the tie downs and securing all the kit and caboodle. Then get out the last cup of coffee and watch the entertainment.

    BANG ON !!

  7. Nice Pike!! Which area of Nip? Don't say EXACTLY where you caught it but...what general area..

Nipissing is pretty big.....Callander Bay ..West Arm.....Upper French....Goose........Manitou...

    North Bay sewage plant...

Reason for asking is that ..most big pike that I've heard of or caught myself this year came off oddball spots compared to usual....we caught a 15lb 36" this winter while fishing for whitefish in 56 feet of water..for example..

Welcome to the board by the way..

  8. I believe that 4 meters of shoreline " NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE " is crown land...

    here's a little story..

My buddy Denis L ... has a property in a upscale parts of town along the upper Sturgeon River..

canoeists decided to make his backyard a campground for the weekend..{ he has the greenest grass}... He tried kicking him off "his property" one of the canoeists pulled out a piece of paper that stated that a certain amount of shoreline was crown land .... Denis called the cops ... they didn't know what to do so they called the town Super Intendant ... he agreed with the canoeists

    they stayed for the weekend....

On the Monday Denis called the ... MNR and they referred him to the federal side of things..

Fisheries and Oceans agreed with the canoeists..

Look into it .. apparently according to Fisheries and Oceans there is no private property on a shoreline.....private structure maybe??

Denis has since put a nice white picket fence along his shoreline.
