Big game for Montreal tonight. They need someone to step up and get them a goal soon. I feel like they can be ok in the standing in terms of making the playoffs if they get at least 1 point tonight.

Apparently Babcock asked Andersen how many games he wanted to play down the stretch or if he was ok to play more. Something like that. Who is going to say ‘no’ or that they want to sit out?

One of those things where I wonder if there is a power struggle / disagreement with Dubas and Babcock. Shouldn’t they be resting Andersen right now? The games are meaningless. Give him a break. Let Sparks prove himself.

Agreed 100%. The big thing Toronto will need to improve is getting results from the lines that don’t matchup with the Bergeron line. Right now i’m Guessing Boston matches them up with Marner and Tavares meaning that Matthews needs to be stellar and Kadri’s line needs to step up production. A lot of things need to go right in this series for Toronto to pull off a W and the way they are playing now, I don’t see it.

They were saying today on TSN 1050 that 25 games into the season the Buffalo Sabers were tied for first in the league. The next 50 or so games after that they only recorded 34 points. Imagine having a rebuild like them or like Edmonton. All in all we’ve been pretty lucky in Toronto that our young players have played well and we have been able to turn it around. Not all rebuilds go as planned.

It’s too good a line not to share. Got a Garrett Sparks bobble head today. I’d use it as a door stopper except it won’t work very well. Sparks can’t stop anything.

It makes it a little tougher to swallow then if it was just a stop sign and nothing else.

Sparks looked like a backup last night. Which, all things considered, is a compliment. He made a couple of big saves, the goals that went in there wasn't much he could do and he gave them a chance to win. Really, that is all you can ask for. The last 2 games Matthews looks like he is playing with a chip on his shoulder. It looks like he was out to make a statement and was really dominant whenever he had the puck on his stick. I hope he can keep this up come playoff time. We are gonna need it. Also they polled the NHL players on a couple of different categories and posted the results in between intermission last night. 'The player you would most want to rebuild a franchise with: Connor McDavid' ............. Did someone forget to tell Edmonton this fact?

If the adults ever show up wanting to talk about any other team rather then just bashing the leafs i’ll Be happy to have a conversation on where Ottawa is going moving forward, the incredible season Montreal and Calgary are having, Will Winnipeg face the same problems Washington has in the past being a firewagon hockey team? How much more can Connor McDavid take in Edmonton and what is to be done? Are the Canucks 2 or 5 years away from playoff contention............... but since the people who hate the leafs don’t have a team and would rather just yell about how much the leafs suck, I can’t see any of that intelligent conversation happening. I mean, when we get such intelligent counter arguements as ‘wow’ why even bother having the thread? I mean, that pretty much says it all right? Nope. I’m legit on this one. I was a Gardner basher since last years playoffs. I noticed the bad and let it overshadow the good. I still think he could be better in his own end, but there is a lot worse.

Honestly? ....... yes. I feel like the leafs have been 10th in the East since Nylander came back (can’t remember the exact spot but it’s not in a playoff spot). Needless to say it has not been good hockey.

Notice how quiet the thread is when it’s not during or directly after a Leafs game? It’s an open Mic but yet no one else is taking the stand.

It’s honestly why I do the majority of my perch fishing on Nippsing now. I can never figure out why most of their perch start at 6 inches and end at 10.

I went fishing once this winter and my wife and mom out fished me. I’m not bitter, you’re bitter! ?
