  1. Hi All, Got back to the spot I got a bunch of walleye the other day for an hour and a half. Lots of fish cruising around, had a couple of nice walleye on but lost them half way up. I lost a lot of fish the other day too, I think i'm going to switch back to braid with a flouro leader for better hooksets. Only landed one small walleye but got a couple of pike too. The first pike hit before I even managed to get my camera on my head, it snapped me off at the hole and then 3 minutes later hit again on my other rod....got my other jig back!

  2. Sad moment to hear that Chris Rea has passed away, one of the most comforting songs for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDt3u2Ev1cI

  3. I’ve tried all the ‘ice’ lines and braid, it’s a gimmick in my experience and froze on the real the same as ‘regular’ braid I’m just gonna go back to whatever brand braid as I’m not fishing outside my shack as much as I used to, getting old.

  4. That would be my choice, there's something magical about being there that I've never felt anywhere else.

  5. Well I got my hydro bill from November 17 to December 16, $144.08 , that's with the new heat pump and electric furnace. I have to say I am pretty pleased, we've had some pretty cold weather. I have it set to 20 at night, 23 during the day, the fan runs 24/7. The furnace has only kicked in a couple of times In the morning for a few minutes when the outside temperature was-17ish just to bring the inside temperature up to the 23 then the heat pump takes over. The house is much more comfortable than with the old propane furnace, it's been a bit of a learning experience but so far I think I made a great investment.

  6. Made it out from 2pm till 4pm, actually made it out by 1pm but had to take some time to check the ice as i'd not been to this lake so far this year. There was 13" in the access bay but that always freezes first so I walked all the way to where it opens out to the main body and there was around 8"....good to go! Bite didn't start till 3pm. I missed a bunch and landed a few in a fun hour, they were definitely hitting the plastics with more enthusiasm than live minnows. We have a storm rolling in here so I left before dark as it was already whiteout conditions and I did not want to navigate 10 miles of unstated lakes in the dark in a blizzard, glad I left when I did as it was 5 feet visibility all the way back.
