gregtheham Posted August 12, 2022 Report Posted August 12, 2022 I have been catching Mudcats on the E. Holland River and have my second or third fish with these gross looking raised, firm, circular red lesions. They are on the body, corner of the eye sockets, mouth, etc. They are like a hard ridged “chancers”. Mudcat syphilis perhaps. Any ideas? Have not found any web reference.
Poolwrecker Posted August 17, 2022 Report Posted August 17, 2022 This Bowfin from the Severn near Washago had something similar. Very gross red, tumors? Growing off it. I found some references to “red sore disease”. Super gross and the article I saw suggested reporting it.
