Anyone had luck reserving a provincial park campsite for the long weekend??

I put it off for waayy to long and its not looking too good for me, got to keep calling in and wait for a cancellation. Right now the closest park to T.O. is Halfway Lake! thats about 45min north of Sudbury!

Marten River had a few spots left last week, but that's not much closer from TO than Halfway Lake.

Long weekends, reserve in January or have at least one person head up on the Wednesday before the long weekend and take a site.

Halfway Lake had a serious forest fire a few weeks back when I drove through.

 

The scenery may not be worth the drive...

a couple of yrs back we showed up at bon echo park with no resevation and got a sweet site only catch was u have to portage and canoe in.scenery was awsome and we boated close to a 100 bass in less than 2 days.good luck on your search
