northernpike56 Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Can crappies tell the difference between micro tubes and real live minnows? Last year I caught lots of crappies on micro tubes but never really tried live minnows. I think maybe in the early spring they are a bit more finicy and would prefer something real? Thanks, Matt. Beans Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 Hey all I am wondering this: do you think that crappies can tell the difference between fake minnows (micro tubes, twistertails, etc.) and real live minnows??? Last year I caught lots of crappies on fake minnows but never really tried live minnows. I think maybe in the early spring they are a bit more finicy and would prefer something real? Thanks for your input, it will help me out alot! - Matt Stick with the fakes...they will hit damn near anything in the spring...ice out they are in the shallows feeding...later they come back in to spawn...
