Holland river question?

I am new to fishing lake simcoe,I heard that the Holland river was a good place to go fishing

I 'm going there this weekend, i just wanna know if anyone's fishing there..i just don't wanna go there and see alot of ice in the river

a friend told me about that place, i m new in town(toronto) and dont know any other open water around toronto area yet.

I hear lake ontario is open

 

much of the holland river froze last weekend but seems to be open now, as far as I can see going over the bridges, so I will be most likely on it this weekend too
