deova Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Can anyone tell me if this lake is stocked with lakers and how the fishing is using down riggers? What kind of lures work best? Thanks
nofish4me Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Not sure about the fishing there (notice I'm "Nofish4me"). Silver Lake P.P. is a great park. See lots of people fishing, not sure what they're catching.
Dave Bailey Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Ontario parks web site says "Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Lake Trout, Yellow Perch, and sunfish". Doesn't mention stocking.
irishfield Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Silver Lake is a stocked lake and is open all year for Lakers. Not a big enough hole out there to worry about using riggers. Jig for them...
deova Posted September 11, 2011 Author Report Posted September 11, 2011 On the lake contour map the deepest part is 72 feet for 2 km in length....
deova Posted September 11, 2011 Author Report Posted September 11, 2011 What is the public boat launch like....can I get a 16.5 foot boat in easily...
irishfield Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Don't know.. it was pretty snowed in last time I used it !
