Why did more Britons than Americans die on the Titanic?

 

A: Because they wore inappropriate clothing for swimming

 

B: Because they were more polite, queuing for the lifeboats

 

C: Because they wanted to finish their supper and didn't get into the lifeboats in time

 

The answer was B

A behavioural economist says data suggests Britons in that era were more inclined to be "gentlemanly" while Americans were more "individualist".
