New Deep water sonar/GPS combo advice

Looking to purchase a new unit , any suggestons / tips?

Was considering a Lowrance LCX-38C, anyone used this model?

The LCX-38C is a fine unit but also very expensive. It all depends on your needs and your budget.

I fish Stoney Lake all the time, and I have the Lowrance 522 iGPS unit.

I would highly recommend it. Great unit, have had no problems with it, and its one of the more affordable units when your talking GPS.

The benefit of the bigger screen for mapping is the only reason I can see to go beyond the 5" screen models. That said, that's a pretty big benefit. Been thinking of upgrading to the 38 myself. Just can't bring myself to pull the trigger.
