napjohn8 Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 hey guys i am staying just north of portage-du-fort, Quebec on the ontario side. What kind of fish can i expect to get in july on the ottawa river, am i likely to find walleye, musky or any other larger fish in that time frame?
Maverick Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 My cottage is up by Pembroke. We get some decent walleye, pike (caught one close to 20 last year) , big cats and sturgeon and lots of nice bass, the odd 5 pounder. There are no musky that I know of in my part of the river but there might be in that part. It's a nice place though and I love every minute I spend there. Good luck fishin'.
napjohn8 Posted April 2, 2008 Author Report Posted April 2, 2008 btw to add i am near whitewater region just north of portage-du-fort and doing only shore fishing however i feel i can catch bass from shore by casting, may get luck with some pike.
Crazyhook Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 big pike up that way, lots of walleye and bass as well... pm me closer to your trip and I can let you know whats biting Jamie
