  1. hey guys i heard about it too, for a world record though one would need a certified scale and biologist on board if its catch and release, how can you release a world record fish, btw canadian muskies members site should have pics by today.
  2. Hey guys i fish the islands all the time in may for pike and summer i had no time to go and then went for salmon season on the credit. I am curious with the cooler water temps and colder temperatures what fish will i catch if i got this weekend?
  3. honestly the bills haven't beaten any big contenders. They beat seattle who had no WR's, they beat the rams who are brutal, they beat oakland who are garbage too, There going to lose there next 2. Going to finish off 10-6, first round playoff exit.
  4. i'm responding to fishnautographs What is with this stunt driving law, if i am driving 50km/h the speed limit i understand that i will get 10000 fine. However why is it categorized as stunt driving? Did anyone see my ghost car that came here two minutes before (thats from Grand Trisimo 3) i'm trying to beat my previous lap time.
  5. hey hammercarp your telling me that a municipality put those signs there, but technically isnt some of it public property and therefore the ontario provinical law would superseed the municipal law. That one is a duzzy to figure out.
  6. hey i love the fish you caught, btw i have experimented with both the center pin and the spinning combo my take is that a spinning system is better for fighting a fish because you are able to control more elements of the line however with a centerpin and longer rod setup it allows you to control the drift and allow for more accurate casts. I found that with the centerpin i was able to avoid objects on the side of the river such as trees of logs because where i fish the river where rocks are higher than the water on the side for flood protection. Spincasting reels are my favourite for salmon. i use a 9'6 rod and a big game reel just for the fact that when a 20+ hits you gotta be prepared for it. I always hear of 6lb leader failing. this might sound bad but i use 30lb main line and 8lb leader works wonderful.
  7. So i decided to head out to a local lake Ontario trib that was expecting to have salmon because after the 15+mm of rain we have received in the last week it would be ample for the salmon to begin staging and running. Last year at this time i was at the river and believe me the salmon were running. I am feeling that this year their behavior is weird. I haven't seen any in the water today and it wasn't murky it was close to a chocolate stain but was clear enough in the pool to see no activity.
  8. hey i was at six mile lake for the bass opener in june. The best area to go fishing is the little back bay with lilly pads besides camp sites 51, 52 and 53. You can take your boat there and cast. It is full of deep weedlines with pike bass and the occasional walleye. I ended up catching 10 bass in half an hour during the full moon in june. Dont use spinnerbaits they get skunked in the weeds. THe best to use are topwater lures.
  9. hey man thats sucks to hear you got charged. I understand they have to do there job but you should've said no to them boarding your boat cause they are consenting to search and you have dont nothing wrong for them to board. If you said no they aren't allowed to board unless you are suspicious or have probable cause. Btw a flashlight is required cause its just smart to have one but for ownership depends on the boat you have.
  10. i dealt with a brown haired lady who was a little on the bigger side last year when i was fishing the small ponds on the east side of the park. I told her to take a hike and it may be the same one your talking about. It makes me sick people have nothing better to do then worry other peoples days. I told her to call the police and she left.
  11. the thing was my friend mentioned he saw a smallmouth feeding on the flies. The flies were active all day and then out of no where it was a feeding frenzy. Too bad the season wasn't open because i dont want to catch fish an illegal way.
  12. i will post the daytime pictures of the site, i wish i could tell you. It was the summer soltice, perfect water conditions of 58 degrees, the moon was almost full and the water was perfectly still. It was so tranquil and so perfect that the fish were feeding within 2 feet of us. The flies were all clustered together over the moons light. It was like the were perfectly between the moon. The fish were biting every 2 seconds. I didn't see any bass in the day and knowing the season was not open i didn't change to a bass lure and instead take in this moment. It was exactly happening at 10:30 and hour and a half after sunset and lasted till 11:45. Suddenly everything returned to normal. I wish i caught a fish and was prepared.
  13. so i went fishing and camping at six mile lake on the weekend before the bass opening weekend. I caught a 14 inch pike crusiing the weedbeds in 6 feet of water chasing after all the bait fish. However on friday night with almost a full moon and many bugs on the top of the water i switched to a frog to skip across and my friend a worm. We found that the fish were going crazy for the flies. we couldn't tell what fish they were but where the light was from the moon. Has anyone experienced this, it was a sight you will see once in a lifetime, the fish we thought were pike because there were alot in the water . The area was lagoon with all lillypads, rocks that went out 15 feet then a drop off of weeds.
  14. i love nascar i wish they built a speedway near toronto, they should put one just north of vaughan, would bring in alot of revenue.
  15. i love the nfl but i dont want the bills in toronto, i like going to buffalo and seeing the games. Who wants to see the Miami Dolphins against the bills. A 1-15 team against an 8-8. I am really going to spend 180 bucks to see a triple AAA team and a rebuilding franchise. I paid less for the grey cup and say 2 great caliber teams.
  16. i have been piking at the islands for a few years and had success last year at this time, i did not see a single pike from the shorelines, i saw alot of carp in school and these ones were up to 30lbs, smallest one was about 15lbs. What is wrong this summer, are the temperatures too cold for the pike to come into the shallows?
  17. your jokng me, i went to rock lake, there are hardly any fish there, we were told by the park range about the great selectino of trout. I fish trout all the time, and we only caught rock bass. Just to tell you the best place to fish is the weeds of rock lake, this is what it looks like
  18. http://www.lowerscoregolf.com/nevada.htm i used this site, plaid shadow creek. Oh my it is a brilliant course and the price is reasonable. As wel TPC at the canyons is a course that is very tough and contains alot of bunkers.
  19. ya i was at doing a solid 4-5 second pauuse with the crankbait but still nothing, i find the pike didn't want to move from the 8+ft water to get the crankbait that was 4 ft deep.
  20. So decided to head down to the toronto islands fo some early pike action. I arrived at hanlins ppint at 11:30a and started casting a rapala husky jerk from the docks and all along the west side of the channel. In the 8ft-10ft depth i had 2 bites but the pike were just messing around and were very lazy and not aggressive at all. So i decided to change tactics and move to the chartenese booyah spinnerbait with a large colorado blade. However aound 12:30 fishing the stretch of the centre island channel i had some swans join my party. The day went fairly bad with hardly any pike being caught. The water levels were still a foot higher than there regular levels. i only took four photos with my iphone.
  21. ya hands down sunshine campground was great last year, i am going to try singles camping.
