I knew what to do when I turned on my F717 and saw a pastel painting. Sony has extended the recall. Sony Corporation has determined that this condition occurs very rarely, but may be accelerated if an affected product is exposed to high temperature and/or high humidity environments. In an effort to ensure customer satisfaction, Sony of Canada Ltd. has elected to offer, effective October 3, 2005, free out-of-warranty repair to owners of affected Sony digital camera, camcorder and PDA products that exhibit the aforementioned condition caused by the image sensor device. danc Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 A good reminder SlowPoke. I also had my 717 repaired free of charge. If your camera is on the list above and starts to exhibit photos like the one below, you're most likely eligible for a free repair.
