Thanks for the heads up, dealer apparently returned the wrong ones to her after her lease. I guess she doesn't know much about tires if she didn't notice.

Oh so sweet! THREE ARRESTS IN $20M MAPLE SYRUP HEIST
funfishing replied to Gerritt's topic in General Discussion
I bet a lot of Americans will get a good laugh in reading that story -
I was told these are Michelin X Ice Snow tires, are you sure they're not winter? How could the seller mix them up?
-
Are these worth putting on or should I keep looking? If they're worth putting on, how much would you pay for the set (4)? Bearing in mind $70 overall installation and $30 gas to pick them up. I'm looking for a set that will last at least one winter. Will be my first time with winter tires, I am a very experienced driver, I have never been in any accidents and have driven a lot through ice and snow with worn all seasons in the past. Having said that, I obviously don't want to go through the trouble and cost of installing a set if they're garbage to begin with. I would ask my mechanic but I can't drive over there now, I've been bugging him all day with photos and just found these now. They are two seasons old according to the owner.

Just checked, they are out thick on my lawn, way out of their holes and not light sensitive compared to spring or summer. You have smart worms on your lawn
-
2 hours! Are you stocking up for the whole winter? Or was it just slim pickings? The last rain we had, they were so easy to pick, you could get a dozen in a couple minutes.
-
If I follow what you're saying correctly, does that mean you have to pick through rotting produce to get the worms?

1000% agree Comparing a gun to a car, to a hammer, ....whaaat? The availability of weapons is sickening. Smuggled guns can't be controlled as they are by definition smuggled against the law, but those weapons are owned and used by criminals, who are more likely to use them among one another (among criminals). This maniac's parents don't sound like criminals, and guess what, if they lived in a country where guns weren't a symbol of freedom to certain people, 20+ innocent children and teachers would still be alive. He would not have gone after them with a hammer. He would not have attempted to run over them. Don't be so damn foolish. There is a high degree of cowardice in these types of acts. It's very cowardly, you just need to push a button, and you can wreak havoc. Swinging a hammer or driving a car is not as simple. It's the simplicity that drives these maniacs to do such things, they are nothing but cowards using a highly efficient killing tool, designed for, killing.

If you wanted to pick some December worms your wish is coming true. SOL if you're up north but those in southern Ontario will be able to harvest with all of this impending rain. What better gift to give to your best fishing buddies, than your own freshly picked worms? I hear steelhead fishing in the tribs really picks up after a good rain, but that might just be a rumour, I'm not really sure In Ottawa your worm picking will look more like this News headlines are already reading: "The end of the world is hear! Snow-mageddon 2012: 70cm accumulation by Friday"

Damn I actually drove past that area in the wee hours this morning, with a near empty tank! Next time I'm passing near Hagersville, I will have to check the price beforehand and plan a stop.
-
I don't find Kingston to ever be the cheapest, that's strange. Peterborough and London are both cheaper. Kingston seems average or a little below. Shannonville is cheap, $1.06 lately. I'm calling baloney on 97.5 though unless he can say where!
-
That's a crazy price! Where? Lowest I get at native reserves is usually 106 these days.
-
Is that with or without a status card?
-
ontariogasprices.com is a handy site if you know you'll be travelling. If I can save $5 each time I fill up and I fill up 2.5 times per week or more, that's $500+/year in savings. Not too shabby.

What do you guys think of these two products

Infomercials work! Do you have any idea how much money Bowflex makes? -
Usually only takes 1 hour. Not a boring drive at all. Oshawa to Ottawa via 401/416 can be boring. I used to get very bored in the stretch from Kingston to Ottawa. However, having driven this route several times in the past few months, I've gotten used to it and actually prefer it now over taking highway 7. Highway 7 route is 50km or so shorter, but much slower speed limit and lots of stops. Not to mention a tonne of cops waiting to pull you over. 120km or even more seems tolerated on the 401, whereas on an 80km/h road, they can easily nail you for 20km/h over. Worse yet is if you're going 90km/h and hit a 60km/h zone without noticing..happens all the time to people, especially at night. I've never encountered traffic going from Oshawa to Belleville.

A few were dead but for the most part they were alive just fine. There was hardly any air in the bag so I was surprised. As per the other thread, I salted the heck out of them after use and put them in the freezer for future use. Thanks again for the tips everyone.
-
Due to laziness they remained in the car, will see tomorrow how they ended up. I am now second guessing whether or not oxygen was pumped into the bag, I don't think it was. Thanks for the link GBW.

Cool sturgeon pics. Why no shoes?
-
Fridge that's a great idea! I was going to leave them in my car, at -4, could end up an ice cube. Don't have a garage, so to the fridge they will go.
-
There's a lot of them in there, but I will take your advice because it doesn't require any additional effort on my part and I am pretty tired after a long day.
-
Just bought a bunch of small minnows for tomorrow from Angling Specialties, given to me in a bag with air. Is there a way for me to keep them alive overnight without an aerator? I'm thinking just a bucket and hopefully it won't freeze overnight...

Drove from Ottawa to Toronto leaving around 6pm..encountered all forms of precipitation just as expected. One 18 wheeler in a ditch and one car in a ditch were the only accidents I saw from 416 to DVP. Was able to do 70 most of the time, 100 once I hit Port Hope area. Most people seemed to be driving at safe speeds. Gas in Shannonville for 106.9

I was on the road during Sandy in southern Ontario. I saw downed trees, broken traffic lights, power outages. Someone died in Toronto from falling materials due to high wind. Sandy was a horrific storm. The upcoming system is going to be the first of the season for millions of Ontarians. The more warning people get, the less accidents. I'm all for weather warnings, they can save lives.

I'll be driving over 1000km today...oh joy
