  1. I've got the Eskimo FatFish 949. Love it. I was out almost a dozen times last season and a few were just me, a couple with a buddy, a couple with my daughter and even a trip with all three kids and wife. Fantastic hut. Lots of room, stable, easy to set up. At the fullest I had my family, chairs for all, 2 camp tables, heater. Left my two sleds and auger outside. All the other times I had all gear inside.
  2. That's great. Awesome video. Not sure what time you went thru but I was fishing down in the whirlpool that afternoon.
  3. That set up is fantastic. Where did you get that bag?
  4. If you are near Hamilton Mountain Bills Bait & Tackle will be open at 5am
  5. We got to use our new x67c for the first time yesterday with my daughter. I turned on the fish I.D. feature and she loved that. She got to see schools of fish under our feet and could tell me what depth and approximate size. That was between catches naturally as the bite was on at Cooks bay. Our first ice fishing trip and it was great.
  6. Bill's is a great shop. We have outfitted ourselves for ice fishing this year solely from them. The kids love going there to see the minnows and the dogs. Thanks Greg and Tim for setting us up.
  7. I'm in Hamilton and dying to get out. It's our first season ice fishing and we as a family all got our first bit of gear. Can't wait to try it out. Can you PM me the ice your on?
  8. Yes. I would like to know the answer too. Our family got our first ice fishing rods this Christmas and can't wait to get out. We too are from Hamilton. Merry Christmas everyone.
  9. Have fish fever. Kids and I can't wait to try Ice Fishing

  10. Anybody been to the pier lately? It was recommended that I give it a try for walleye and to go late in the evening. Just wondering if the bite was on and perhaps what I should bring for gear. Having never been is the pier lit up or should I be bringing light with me?
  11. I should add this. Should I make my way out to the mouth of the marina? Would this provide any more chance of a bite?
  12. Do walleye ever come into the marina? Was at the perch derby on Saturday and saw a few guys pull a couple perch (the bite just not on) I believe a bass or two and there were some nice size browns swimming around. Just thought I'd ask and see if anyone has some idea.
  13. Well hopefully we'll meet each other at the club meeting?
  14. Had a good time this morning. The bite was slow (for me nothing) but that's okay. Got to meet some fellow fishermen and OFNers. The club sounds like a good bunch and I think I'll be going to the next meeting to check it out further. Thanks to the members of this forum for posting about this event that I would not have know about otherwise. Keep the info coming. If I could ask one thing. When posting about any general fishing spot (50 point marina in this case or a general area like Bayfront park etc) could you include the lure or bait presentation that has been working for you there. Each of us have our own rhythm so I dont think you'll lose any fish. Just interesting to know what has been working so we can either try something new or go back to something we have overlooked. As a new fisherman in like a sponge and enjoy soaking up all the tips I can get. Cheers
  15. Hey folks. Just heard about this derby this morning. Glad to hear that perch are in the marina. Looking forward to going. My daughter(6) and I just starting fishing this summer so any chance to be with other people fishing just encourages her more. Beware, she might ask to see maybe even hold or kiss any fish that are caught. Silly kid.
  16. That Subway is about 5 blocks from where I live. My kids will be happy to see that boat around our area. Congrats.
  17. With three kids, two of whom want to fish (little guy is not yet two) it would be nice to hear from someone that it's worth the drive. I went a few weeks ago by myself and was the only guy standing on the pier with a rod. Felt and looked pretty stupid. My oldest daughter says its more fun fishing when you're catching fish. I've had plenty of lone casting practice.
  18. Anyone fishing off the pier in Dover recently?
  19. Looks like a fantastic family outing. Looking forward to locating an inexpensive boat to get my kids out on the water.
  20. Just putting this back to front as fresh. Any thoughts on the perch?
  21. Anybody have some thoughts here? As much as I'd like to have a fishing boat it's just not possible right now. Shore(pier) fishing is what's available and I'd sure like to be able catch something edible.
  22. Anybody live in the Dover area or fish the pier often to have an idea when these tasty fish might return?
  23. Thanks. Hope to catch some for a nice fall fish fry. I've "baited" my neighbor with the idea of fresh perch so I better come through.
  24. Was hoping to head into Port Dover and fish off the pier. Any idea when would the perch might being coming back in?
