  1. http://www.tinboats.net/forum Everything you need to know about fixing up aluminum boats. I have started my project on my 14 footer in December, should be ready by the spring.
  2. So I know I'm thinking way ahead of time here, but where will everyone be fishing for the bass opener weekend? I haven't decided yet, but I want to book a 5 day trip somewhere. I was thinking of going to sturgeon lake, but have never been there for the opener. Any suggestions?
  3. To bad its a reprint. I have a original o pee chee mario lemieux rookie card in MINT condition, I was told I can get $6-700 for it. I dont even know where to sell it
  4. I was at le barons today, just looking around. I was looking at the shimano crucial 7' cranking rod.. and ended up buying it .. the no tax sale convinced me. It seems like a great rod and cant wait to get it wet. I will be pairing it with my bps pro qualifier reel for now. It's the 6:4:1 gear ratio, what do you guys think?
  5. Le Barons no tax sale is only when you buy a rod/reel, it ends this Saturday. I picked up a shimano crucial.. no tax!!
  6. bucktail, How do you like that rod? Im looking to pick up a new crankbait rod soon, I want to spend $150 tops. I was looking at the st. croix premier series crank rods but havent been able to find one to look at up close. I also took a look at the BPS crankin sticks and they seem pretty nice considering the price. Anyone have a opinion on a budget crankin rod?
  7. Bass pro sells a kit that comes with 12 KVD cranks, I picked it up. http://www.basspro.com/Strike-King-Kevin-VanDam-12Piece-KVD-Square-Bill-Crankbaits-Kit/product/10211767/95043
  8. Sorry, didnt see that
  9. So this coming weekend will be the 5th annual spring fishing and boat show. I have never been but I am looking to pick up a new rod and reel before spring. Do the booths hold any good deals? Is it worth to not buy at BPS or Lebarons and wait? http://springfishingandboatshow.com
  10. Depending on your income, leasing can be a good or bad idea. I personally would never lease a car. If I were well above my middle class status then yes, I would be driving a new Porsche every year.
  11. Hello everyone Some friends and I are looking to book a 4-5 day fishing trip this summer. We normally fish sturgeon lake and stay at Fish n Rest but we wanted to try something else this year. We were thinking either scugog, rice, buckhorn or pigeon lake. Can any of you guys recommend a good place with at least half decent cottages on the lake? Websites, phone numbers or any other information would be great. Thanks.
  12. I've tried them all, I have only used this reel 2-3 times with light lures.. Im sure something heaver would toss out some more line. A have a spinning reel that I can almost spool with the same lures I tried out.. it has 20# power pro.
  13. See, I can only manage a quarter of my spool IF that with 50 pound on this reel.. Ill definitely be trying out some 30 pound.. either the regular stuff or the super 8 slick.
  14. Ok your right, so heres one of my reels, 50 pound power pro and 6:4:1 gear ratio.
  15. BillM, how accurate is this? The berkley seems extremely strong.
  16. DOS, I will keep that in mind!
  17. I was under the impression that thinner diameter = further chances of casting. That's what I've read online ect.. but who knows. I was thinking of putting 30# power pro or spider wire on a couple of my setups and see how they do.
  18. Hi, I was cleaning up my rods and tackle last night, jonesing for the soft water season to commence I've always used 50# power pro braid on my baitcasters, but I feel that Im not getting enough distance on my casts. What are everyones experiences with using a lighter braid on a baitcaster? I was thinking of switching to 30# but just worried about backlashes.. since 30# braid is equivalent to 8# mono, right? How do you all decide on what # line to use? Technique? Species? Anyone input would be great. Thanks Edit: Also, are some brands of braided normally thicker than others with the same # test line?
  19. Great fish.. well done!
  20. When you go to register your trailer, say you got it for VERY cheap. As far as registration for the boat goes.. I dont believe anything is needed for a tinny. Edit: The rule I believe is that you do not have to register any boat as long as the motor is less than 10 horsepower. http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafety/oep-vesselreg-hmnpwrd-menu-3644.htm
  21. Awesome man.. I miss my boat
