  1. get a letter from the Homeowners.. they can't do crap to you if you have permission as it is a communal launch. (unless it is owned by 1 person and they do not want you to launch out of there). They can take it up with the Homeowners if they want to. Most of the time it's just people being bitchy because they want to have the lake all to themselves. They couple may have been saying the cop line to scare you off because it's easy to say "my friend gave me permission". A letter solves it all.
  2. I agree with you in the computer age stuff. It's a pain when you don't have the right diagnostic tools. The car companies are now employing engineers who have a grudge against us mechanics.. you can't get your hand into anything without a cut or removal of everything short of teh engine! VW now has ELECTRONIC parking breaks instead of mechanical.. try to figure that stuff out when it breaks.
  3. You can try B&D wreakers in oakville or mikes auto parts.. they are who we deal with an have never had a problem... Oh and NEVER pay credit on a part before you see it. There is no reason for it. Milton auto wreakers is another good one to try!
  4. That's why i do all my own work. Only thing i paid for in the 3 years was my exhaust because i had it fitted and went from 2" to 2 1/4" with the high flow cat. Wow 1800 for a head gasket, i know it's 80% labour and 20% part on that thing but still. I would still pay more for a good alignment then go with a cheap toe and go alignment after a hit like this, your caster and cambers could be shot as well and that would be nice to know.
  5. As a mechanic i strongly suggest you take it to a shop and get an estimate done.. Most things you can get from a wreaker for cheap. Sounds like you may have bent your control arm and that causes the tire to Drag more instead of roll. This could be why you wreaked your spare tire. But I can't tell you exactly what is wrong.. your best bet it to get it looked at.
  6. I don't think it's C&R but with the health posting on the fish there i would treat it as C&R
  7. Heading out tomorrow out of Bronte.. If it's good i'll throw up a post!
  8. http://www.offshoremarineparts.com/bp8hn10/prod_9735.html http://www.offshoremarineparts.com/ql6vc/prod_9706.html Seems the Champion is used for more powerful motors and the NGK is the correct one to be using. Did you buy this engine new or used. If used, it's previous owner my have Mickey Moused the plugs. I hope this helps. If in doubt and the champion works.. you can always just put a set of new champions back in.
  9. Hoping to get out with my dad on Friday weather permitting.. have had no luck in the past couple of weeks.. but i'm glad you guys are out having fun. The one fish in the cooler looks like it had it's head ripped off.. ouch.
  10. Great job.. thou I am still wondering as to why they would even be allowed to change the charge of a ticket AFTER it's issued.. That's like issuing a speeding ticket to a car then charging them for J-Walking 2 weeks later because they saw you Littering. If Colbourg wasn't so far from me.. i would be there on the 19th. You have my support and way to go on the win!
  11. You should have a 5 plug harness with a blue wire. the blue wire is for breaks and the 5th plug is reverse sensor.
  12. sounds right as the brown wires are usually tail lights. the white is the ground. Nissan wired up my moms 5 wire to 4 wire adapter and screwed it all up.. now i have to rip it apart and fix it.
  13. Best friend lives in Binbrook. Was thinking about running up to that lake some time to fish it. Just got to find a day off and i'm off.
  14. Had this problem Saturday night with my baitcaster.. I'm new to it and have learned the thumb trick works well. I find braided line in a baitcaster sucks, but that could be until i get better at casting. A few videos on Youtube about backlash helped me figure it out.
  15. 100 ft out is excessive.. plus the sign.. i would be fishing just to piss him off.. what's he going to do? Best fish will be under that big dock! I wonder if you ran into that thing at night if he would get charged?
