  1. hey guys ive probably posted this many times in the past but ym dad keeps nagging me to do it again. so me, m brother and my dad are looking for a drive to lodge for the first week of august. the drive can be up to 7 hours max from toronto. looking to fish for walleye, pike and bass. decent prices, nice cabins, nice boatsm good food. anyone have any suggestions? it will help a lot. thanks!
  2. looking to find a good lake ontario charter for salmon for me and my dad and brother. looking to go in the summertime but just wanted to know ahead of time. any help? thanks
  3. i am 16 years old and just started musky fishing last season, i went overboard on the rod and reel. my first combo was a calcutta 400 te and a st croix premier rod. it is amazing. let me just tell you it is the most addicting thing in the world but costs a lot of money. number one thing is proper release tools. a big net, long pliers, and bolt cutters are a must. if you are starting out , the kawarthas will produce numbers of muskie. i have only been fishing musky for a couple months last season and have already landed about a dozen decent sized muskie. just try not to get too addicted lol or your wallet will be affected.
  4. going to be getting ready for spingtime crappie as well as panfish, just wondering what line you use for them? name, pound test, briad mono fluoro? any help? thanks

  11. hey guys, i have a shimano calcutta 400 TE and i used it for this past season. these reels are quite pricey so i want to take care of it because of all the strain on it for the musky lures. i was wondering if anyone knew a good place where i can get my reel serviced? (fixed up, cleaned, etc? ) thanks
  12. X2 great lake for pike as mentioned above, they also have crappie and other panfish, as well as the odd bass through the ice.
  13. hey i usually go up to a lodge every year and was wondering to look for something next year, we have to plan it early to get reservations. i was looking for a place has has nice cabins, good food and just great accomidations in genereal. were looking for a place with awesome fishing mostly walleye though. i live in toronto and dont mind a long drive, it doesnt bother me. i will fly in if necessary. is there any places you have been that have met my expectations? if so let me know! thanks!
  14. waltonian inn, has been my favourite for the past 3 years. great food, service, cabins, and the ice huts are massive! the fishing is hit and miss everywhere on nipissing. some years we went there and caught over 40 herring, a mess walleye and a few pike in 3 days, while others we could barley get a perch. overall though this place is amazing try it out!
  15. hey guys ice fishing is coming up soon and me and my family are planning on doing a lot of ice fishing for lakers this year. we always go up to a lodge for walleye for a couple days but now we want to find one that is good for ice fishing lake trout. they dont have to be big, we are just looking to get some decent numbers. it has to be a drive to place and a drive about 7 hours away from toronto. are there any lodges you guys have stayed in the past that have met what i am looking for? thanks!
  16. also what colour bad boyz/meggs should i get? (bright colours, naturalcolours)?? and what colour tube should i tip it with? (chartruese, natural)???
  17. do you guys usually tip your williams with minnows or just leave it plain?
  18. went to rice about a week ago and we caught over a dozen walleye and lost a bunch. we used minnows and jigheads fished very slow close to the bottom. look for anywhere from 7 to 15 feet of water, thats where we hit them. you can launch right out of bj tackle and marina in bewdley. straight from the launch all you have to do is drive straight and you will be in the best spot in the area.(its right in the middle of the bay) hope this helps Peter
  19. going to buy a new rod for lakers and whities and ive been looking into the st croix premier ice rods. i was wondering if anyone had/has these before? how are they? and what action and size should i be getting because im ordering it offline and i dont want to make a silly mistake on the action of the rod lol thanks!
