  1. 28 years from Barrie to toronto every day.You get used to it.Sure costs though.Woud love to find a bit of work around here for a day or two a week.My minimum commute is 230km's per day up to 350-450 km easily some days.
  2. What are you saying lol.I bought those 4 years ,maybe 5,when Fish Ontario was at the first service station behind the petro Canada.Asked him what was hot and never used them till now.Not so hot first time out lol.
  3. Good to know, thanks.Like that pattern!!
  4. Nice Dave, some eat up battery life crazy.
  5. 66 degrees surface temp out in the deeps of Simcoe Sunday.
  6. Thanks Brian for tips. I remember those photos well.Nice fish they sure were.

  8. That would stay on at a trolling speed ok?
  9. Did some searching Dave, what do you mean by meat?,minnow ,worm, ham?thanks.
  10. I have had good luck Chris with a #3 cyclops in tiger for Pike. All most tried that. Pink Glo,will check that out,
  11. Will try that Bill, but, very little showing up at the bottom. We could go 15mins or more before we saw another on the bottom.Again maybe 4-5 at the most. The fellow I was fishing with was jigging in the 40' range with a swim bait and that's when he hooked up.95% of the fish Sunday were in the 35-60' range.Never seen that many on the screen ever. lol.
  12. Dave not sure what that is that you use,but will look that up.Will check out the flutter spoon and moonshine bad toad. Here is what I tried, suppose to be great Laker lures?,maybe they are, maybe not so much. They range from 4,5.6",thanks guys ,keep them coming !!!
  13. Hi guys, spent 5 hours trolling with dipsey's in the 40-60' range yesterday. We had two hits and nothing,I had a perch on a good size spoon lol.The fish were continuous in this range, never really stopped. We tried spoons, different colours and sizes, swimbaits, cleos, and even a couple floating cranks.Running right through the schools according to the finder and using the dipsy chart adding approx 10' because of braid. We did change our line length off the reel, just to hit different ranges. Whether your trolling, down rigging, dipsey's,what has given you the best results overall?.I guess your #1 go to lure.Would love to hear it,and maybe grab one or two of them . Thanks for any ideas.
  14. Some nice fish there, and you braved the elements.wtg!!!!!!!
  15. Winds were all over the place I found, great fishing guys!!,good to see the lake is in real good shape ,according to the humminbird lol.
  16. Started dipsy's diving around 6:45am ,spent about four hours doing that.Marked tons of fish all day in the 40-50' range. A couple hits and a nice Perch in 53' of water for myself lol. Shaun(xx goaler) and I decided let's jig in a area we found which was almost constant beeps and fish throughout the column. I start at the bottom, him at 40',I'm in 121'.and he gets a hit. A real nice and respectable 9lb laker for table fare.Nice job bud!!

4am is coffee, and toast and decision time. Might have to walk a few small tribs with the fly rod if the winds are crazy. Theres always some where to fish.

  21. I have a down rigger as well Rick, the thought was to have the #1's to either side far out and than run my#0straight down the back.If that sounds like a not so good idea,I could just run the rigger then. Thanks for the help!
  22. Heard that today Pete, his wife offered that part from what I understand. Will miss him as well, quite the talented guy for sure!
  23. Look at the life long skills they can get when they have thier own place,Kids don't think like that, but getting paid to learn something that will most likely benefit them is priceless. That's how I thought when I was 13 or so. Should add my grandfather built his own plane and it was still running up to 15 years ago,he's been gone 30 years now. I was the only grandson, and he wanted my help for anything.Great life skills for sure.
  24. Thamks Bill and Shane, good points I will remember. The snubber is on,maybe I don't need it?,but my turning clicker skills I am sure or not up to snuff.I'm just worried about 3 lines out now and trying to grab a fish lol.1st time, need any advantage I can get !Let's see how this works out,I'm all for getting the right gear, just need to see if I can manage this much..Thanks again guys.
