  1. Hey all, I have an older Evinrude 9.5 Sportwin and was just double checking to make sure that spraying carb cleaner and adding carb cleaner to the fuel is ok for this old 2 stroke. Just wanted to double check as the Mechanic I spoke to said he was not 100% sure. Thanks in advance

    Bill

  2. Dang Gerritt.. was that your choice... "I promise" or Mod Q ? :dunno::D

Dang, I figured that this was the year... ohh well maybe next time ;) ...

Thanks for taking the time mod's sometimes a thankless job where you can be called

anything from A-Z and beyond, but appreciate the time boys.

  3. the pt has a flippin switch that is excelent for jigging walleye pitching for bass and drifting from a boat on the niagara, just hit the button and the line is let out,,take you thumb off and your fishing all with one hand, this feature is what sold me.

Yup, that is one feature that is nice to have, some people will use it others will never touch it though.

  4. You gonna do any fishing with the crowds on the weekend Bill? I may head down with some freshly tied roe sacs, power worms and jigs...

PM me if you wanna carpool...

I may go to the credit or to an eastern trib... I will PM ya or you can do the same... what's your deal for the weekend douG, any chance ya might wanna come If our plans allow?

  5. The forecast doesn't look quite as bad now (seems as though it changes hourly :) ).

Keep your eye on the Environment Canada flow rate graph for the Credit (or any other river you want to fish for that matter).

It'll give you a pretty good idea whether it's fishable or not once you have a personal yardstick to compare with what you're seeing online.

Yessir thanks for the link... I already have it but it is a great resource.

  6. Checked the creek here and they tend to be similar in flow change as well as colour, and it has been blown for a while... Thanks for telling me solo, ya seved me a lot of time and effort... The search continues...

  7. I was at Erindale park on Monday and the water was nice and clear!

If only you had been an hour earlier <_< No problem, glad to know its fishable, Maybe tomorrow morning. Ya have any luck out there Monday?

No problem, you can hijack my thread anytime you want with your stories, just as long as I get em back undamaged, no problem with a little extra "character" though... I Figured since I didnt want to make the 40 min drive to turn around I would fiddle with the boat and I just got in from working on the engine... First pull and Vrooom... a few adjustments and now she's purring beautifully, well for what it is. Now to work on the boat... ahhh fishing I caught myself daydreaming, while finding the "perfect Idle speed", about Trolling the Bay Of Quinte... :Gonefishing: only a matter of time now boys!

  8. I personally have 4 pairs of polarized glasses... 2 of them are Maui Jim's (one amber lens the other in smoke) and then a pair of cheap sunglasses, strike kings I believe, which run about $20 a pop in both amber and smoke... I have yet to break the Maui jim glasses and have had em for a couple years and use em on the water ALOT and they no doubt outperform the 20$ pairs, which I have broken/lost 3 pairs in the past year and a half. It all has to do with how you treat them, If you care about them you will go out of your way to protect them and they will serve you a long time. If you have cheapies you dont care about well heck you'll toss em here and there, no second thought if they fall unprotected out of your pocket onto the gravel. Thats just how it works. Now as for quality Vs. price, I think that you definitely have to look at the law of diminishing returns because it holds true... you can start to pay for style this and that material etc. and you will find what you want and dont want. Remember though some people are fully satisfied with their $20 optics while others wont touch them because they know what they'll be missing. One thing though I would suggest is TRY THEM ON I have gives some of mine away because they press too hard on my temples and after the day hurt like an dude, ya can't very well adjust the plastic frame. As well consider the TYPE OF FISHING you are doing. If you are going to be doing mainly deepwater trolling and the like, you need protection from the Uv rays and sun, whereas if you are sight fishing for bass or checking out structure on the rivers you need to have a quality pair of glasses. Hopefully you got something from this long winded response. Good luck in your search!
