  1. anybody ever fished trout lake , walleye opener ,, maybe heading there next year,, we are late already booking nextyears anual.
  2. Found a brand new key switch for 27 dollars with push in choke ,, just going to make sure it is the right one first.. and that is at a boat place in oakville on third line ,not sure of name .. problem of that solved.
  3. I have so many keys around ,but have exhausted them all now, i am thinking the switch itself is messed up as the one i thought it was does turn and push in for choke ,, so i will see how pricey one is monday . too hot today ,
  4. A friend of mine just came back from camping there and he was catching pike ,marking all kinds of fish he said..
  5. Saw that place and that is where the lcbo is and gas, I hit a huge rock there also last year , did in a prop ,we were told to watch the points and i thought i was out far enough from the point and bang,, we fished in the bay across from us and across from you if you do a right angle to point ,not in the main bay, we also went behind us in the bay there , others caught pike there and at the far end by waterfalls ,they caught ,fish tv was there last year and stayed at the camp beside us i think they did the back lakes and that is what is recommended up there ,but we never did , .
  6. Well i think i found the key,, and if someone is going to steal your boat a lock is for the honest thieves and the real ones will take it no matter what so you might as well leave the keys in and they wont make a mess ... just in case it does get found in some remote lake way up north .-going to give it a try today ,
  7. nope, not mine unless a bird took them and flew east for the summer.thanks though
  8. Yep, you push in for choke ,
  9. Well after 14 years of leaving the keys in the boat ,they are gone.. I always left the keys in there because i figured if someone was going to steal ,why make a mess of everything ,enjoy it and let me collect the insurance. anyways , it is a 85 evinrude and i was going to start it for a guy that was going to buy it and could not find the keys anywhere, i have exhausted all the keys i have ,and even found ones i have no clue what they are for , is there a easy and cheap way to replace or maybe just keep on jamming a key in there and maybe it will move ,not sure how much to replace the whole swithch . 1979 year of boat.
  10. We were there a few years ago ,first of june, we landed a few walleyes at the far end from the public launch ,bass were out of season when we were there and were pretty big ,owner of lodge told us where to fish and he went to the spanish ,, didnt leave a good note for us .the walleye we caught was roughtly 8 pd. and a few big pike ,far end to the right where it looks like another lake and you can just get a boat through where the rapids are .. The area and lake was really nice and we enjoyed the area .good luck.
  11. We were at gowganda last year,, stayed at lookout point camp,, great place,, did you fish mainly on main lake,, that is what we did ,had some luck but not the way we like to ,, need the fish to jump into boat by themselves.. our first line dropped in when we got there and we had a huge walleye on ,after that our boat never caught another one, bass and pike.. the other guys did o.k. on main lake,, great pics .we went with a crew of 17 last year,, shared two cottages ,try lookout point camp ,larry and vicki are the best and do anything for you.. she showed us how to fillet the pike perfect.
  12. The bigger the dealership the better the price you will get ,such as in toronto.Unfortunatly small dealerships can no t give you the deals you see in the sun and such.If you need xplan pin it is easy to get on a ford forum ,just ask for them ,myself i dont have any left this year .. go ford of course.
  13. Well we came back from twin j hideaway , great place to stay if you are thinking about going to gogama area,, we left sunday morning from burlington at 4 a.m. so we could be there to see end of tournament, well we got about 30 minutes away and there was a fatal accident blocking 144 and they closed it down just after we got there ,, around 1p.m. ,the group ahead of us turned around right away and went back down and around to timmins and back down -took them another 7 hours ,, me and my buddy decided to wait it out and told the cops we found a spot to fish and wait it out ,they said go ahead and check back around 9 p.m ,we found a great spot just to sit and relax and throw a few lines in ,hooked a pike but we just took it easy ,bugs were bad there,,, we went back up to scene and they were still doing there thing and cop said that he was going to let us through around 10 or so after they picked up trucks ,around 11 or so he let us pass finally ,20 minutes away we were there,, so day one was a right off,,,. The fishing wasnt to bad but should of been better i think , a lot of pike were caught by our group and walleye everyday , one or two and the odd five in the boat ,the tournament up there they said it was good and you can do a search for first nations reserve mattagami lake ,the owner at reserve said that the first time in a long time one of his band members placed in the top 10 ,very nice group up there.. well my buddy didnt catch anything all week and i didnt catch until wednesday evening when we found a hole and they were biting big time ,got a 19 and 16 ,they were biting so soft ,so i put a stinger on and even then that is all i could get for the week.. the last day i got a small pike on a dollar store lure (white and pink) .We had a great time and the bugs were bad and really affected my fishing partner and i will stand near him all the time now,,, .Alot of people at lodge were catching but not like usual they said and was hard this year for some reason also,,, .Here is a picture of my buddys canoe that we used all week ,, electric motor ,pontoons, fishfinder swivel seats and music if he wouldnt of blown his inverter for it.. Well looking for another spot next year already and maybe up hwy 11 next year... pic to big to upload will resize .
  14. we stayed at red pine a few years ago also ,, we didnt like how far the boats were from the cabins ,you basiclly had to drive to your boat with all your equipment,, but i thought the fishing was good there ,we found a nice spot up the river about 5 miles down i guess ,just past one of the outposts and opposite side ,, pulled in small walleye one after another ,and other than the weather that week it was o.k. and the guys would like to go back there .hated the drive on 144 ,
  15. We usually go to a different area every year,, first time up to that lake this time and we have been to foylet ,gowganda ,quebec etc. hopefully we can find a spot to go yearly again, quebec was to far and paying for extra license doesnt cut it with most of us and we figured ontario is just as good or better, foylet we did good a few years ago but last year at ggowganda wasnt to good but o.k. we dont do the tourny ,we couldnt get in until after it was over and we hope we will be up there to see end of it and spy out where they are fishing and bringing in the eyes...well a few last minutes things to shop for and leave,, i went to ctc and swore i wasnt go to buy any more fishing stuff and resisted on a lot of things and only ended up getting a small package of power bait minnows..
  16. that is good to know ,will have to chck out the weather network for this ,i chek for upcoming week and didnt see the bug report .good to know and thanks ....bugs usually dont bother me its the other guys that complain about them ,,,
  17. how are the bugs in areas of fishing ,, post area of fishing and situation in topic

    Scugog

Fished scugog for years,,never went far from goreskis ,, out from goreskis marina and to the right in front of seven mile island and in bay always had good luck,, also just past seven mile island ,go by the buoys and i usually drifted from one side to the other with a jig and worm ,always caught them there, one time the charter from port pery came by and a guy yelled that there were no fish therre and as soon as he said it i had a 2 pd on ,showed it to him and shrugged his shoulderrs,, also go across from goreskis to other side and in all the weed beds and you can see a old duck hunt o something like that on shore and drift in there .. good luck,,,
  20. Great purchase,, we have a '10 just a pony package ,, standard ,black ,it had the look i wanted for the mustang i always wanted,i love it when the kids want to race me , it is hard not to drive by one of them and look and laugh at the their muffler and they think they are ready to go.. nothing better than a mustang and ford got it right this time for sure,,, as for the back seat - if your not sitting in it ,dont worry about it,.I was going to get one a few years back but needed a truck first so it got on the back burner until last year , the dealership keeps on phoning for another oil change ,,i brought it in just before christmas at 5000 kms ,, and the dealer says ,most mustangs are very low mileage and are hard to get in for the scheduled oil changes , we still only have 8000 kms on it . Nothing better than shining it up and going for a drive .Lots of power even for our little pony v6 . I just have to ask my wife if i can drive it once in awhile and usually its only when it needs gas ... funny how she will never take my truck to get gas ...
  21. 21 pitch is for high speed ,, will not get you out of the hole fast ,for instance if you are taking someone waterskiing ,and with the hp of engine. stay with a 17 pitch for that engine ,it is not like you are going to break any water speed records. and you can get your old props fixed for around 80 ,but that 125 prop would be a deal..
  22. This has been my answer ,i have never had a problem ,i try and shine it up and still nobody will take it ,not sure why but it works for me ,maybe they heard of all the repairs i put into engine and they dont want the headache of it.. oh well it aint pretty but it works for me .. ,most locks are for the honest thieves ,and the professionals will take it no matter what you do..
  23. Well it is that time of year and probable most of you have an annual fishing trip planned, We have ares organized after the last one in june ,and usually booked right away ,.My question is ,what do you guys do for your trips to prepare ,we have a meeting and see what food each is required to bring and supplies. We used to go pretty crazy on this list and would cost each of us 200 dollars in years past ,last year we got it down to 75 each ,and this year should even be cheaper .Just curious on how you handle food and how much .We have 8 going this year ,so we buy breakfast for each person each day(eggs, peameal bacon, bread) also we bring up our own snacks that you get yourself .We plan on eating fish most days but sometimes that doesnt happen so we plan a few meals also , like hamburgers ,hotdogs ,potatoes. You supply your own booze and mix ,.We share the cost of cottage and dockage between all 8 . We have a list going and gets knocked down each year as we dont need most things anymore . Anybody have any good lists they would like to share . The hardest part is to get these guys together for the meeting and ours is scheduled a week before we go this year.. Well as you can see i am looking forward to our trip this year and is less than 2 months away now ,,
  24. Merc, jets ... hopefully something like choke that would be an easy fix.
