True story, around here, indiginous from on harvesting any turtle, but especially snapping turtles.

 

To them, we live on turtle island. Which is the Americas. No idea how they've known this for thousands of years, but look on the map and you'll know why they call it turtle island.

 

I once found a dead snapper on the beach in Porter's inlet on rainy lake. I was gonna keep it, was beautiful! I grabbed the huge hollowed out she'll only to get stung about 50 hornets that had taken up residence lol.

 

The place I post alot of shore fishing pics from, is on the "turtle of Manitou". I've shown it too Brian aka Wormdunker. I needed special permission from elders to fish or even go there. And every spring we bring berries and gifts to the turtle for protection and thanks. We also fill a water pail and float it down the river. Im not sure why though??? I should probably ask

Harvesting snappers is rediculous anyhow.

I was typing and all of a sudden it disappeared????????

 

I was TRYING to say, this might be a silly question, but it APPEARS the meat is being cooked inside a plastic bag with those gizmos??? It sounds like there is no "plastic" taste??? But what about plastic leaching into the food? is the temperature kept so low that the plastic doesn't break down, or has anybody actually studied this? You know, ten or fifteen years from now they come out with a new study that cooking in plastic causes stomach cancer, or whatever??????????????

Actually I'd say BBQing meat is far more dangerous. Studies do say that causes cancers. But it takes a heck of alot of BBQing before any damage would be noticed.

 

I haven't seen studies on the plastic bags, but yeah, my mind tells me there would indeed be an increased risk especially since plastic leaches synthetic estrogens over time, or when heated.

 

But, that risk is probably waaaaay lower than microwaving food. IM surprised anyone still uses microwaves. I know, convenience, but...

I've had great experiences, now it seems it's my time to pay the piper.

Immersion cooker is the cats arse of making food perfect. You could not do this in a pot.

 

Try it sometime. Everything cooked in immersion cooker is flawless

Yeah and most trail cams are set up in shooting lanes etc when it's hunters. That doesn't help either

Now we face into the eyes of the beast. Buffalo (who we never play well against) Washington, Pittsburgh, Columbus (all 3 top teams in the Metro division) and a huge game against Tampa.

 

Our boys are doing everything they have been asked, but it only gets harder from here.

Yeah we finish up with a gnarly schedule. Hope those teams lay off Abit getting ready for the playoffs

 

I'd be super happy with 2 wins and points in another. Be crazy to run out the schedule now
