  1. Lol, Rick you just described my tortuous video production process! Very little snow this year and it went from -30 to plus temps overnight a few weeks back. Kevin was making noises about community my up in the winter to ice fish...you guys should make a plan.

    Forecast is plus 19C today.

Yep, same here in emo. Kiddos are already out playing basketball ???

  2.

In my work cutting film many years ago we used surgical knives stainless Stella handle witha #11A surgical blade. urry's art store carries them.

The handle is flat, very comfortable to use. Hold it like a pen.

This would probably work awesome on pannies. Super accurate cuts IM guessing
  3. I'm interested lol. Is the gear wind proof as well as waterproof? What would be a comparable set to the Bps 100mph stuff? I'm looking for a set for myself and the girlfriend.

I haven't used the bps 100mph suit so I have no comparison to draw.

But I'll fish in storms and stay warm and dry, for whatever that is worth.

  4. How long have you guys/gals had the guidewear/100MPH suits?

I find rain gear has a short lifespan. I've tried all kinds, and after 2-3 years, I get wet.

It sucks spending big money on stuff that doesn't last.

I've started buying cheap stuff again. Some of it lasts longer. Same with waders. I've had the top of line waders, and after 2-3 seasons they leak, so now I spend $100 on cheapies, and replace them every couple years.

    S.

My cheap storm tech gear has lasted 5 years thus far, and trust me it's tried and tested. I've worn it fishing and even moreso mining. I ripped a pocket on the pants last year so one zipper doesn't work.

Jacket and pants cost $150 I believe(I'll look). And I should mention it's spring/fall gear not winter gear

But my dad is a distributor and gets some wicked sales so if anyone is interested let me know. Some stuff I get for 50% off all the way up to free.

But sizing is an issue with stormtech. I'd always go a size up

  5. Oh im positive it's how it was cooked. I love wild game, to me it's easily my favorite food group. I've had beaver that was great, beaver that sucked too, and it's somewhat similar, tough oily meat.

Seems odd they'd ban snappers, there is billions of the things. And it's not like it's anyone's daily meal. Everyone I know that harvests them eats maybe 2 a year.

Anyone caught one fishing? I caught a monster on Mainville years ago, musta been 90lbs, thing was huge. Glad I have long pliers, I was scared crappless to take the hook out lol. It fought good, like hauling up half a tree hahahah(I actually thought I snagged a large branch)

  6. This season could end today and the Leafs could call it a success. Incredible scoring and points records by the rookies and big improvements by some of the existing players like Kadri and Bozak. I'm happy...everything else is gravy and there is lots to build on. With their position now, I hope they make the playoffs because it'll have little effect of draft picks but the experience of being in the playoffs and probably getting their butts kicked will be valuable. I don't want their first playoff run to be the first year they're actually ready.

This year has been awesome watching these guys enter the league and perform the way they has. I'm so glad I got to see it. Depending what happens in the next 5 years, this will go down as a big year in Maple Leafs history. Go Leafs Go!

    Well said!

  7. You lucky devil, only two hours. My closest cabelas is 4 hours+ away in Winnipeg , if I am buying a big ticket cost item I have to put in the leg work, but like to get what I actually want than settle for what's just available.

Yep me too lol. I'd drive 2 hours like f all for proper gear

We really need a good store closer

  8. I've never tried that Rick, I'll add it to my arsenal! :)

Hahaha I did it once with the MNR. It's unreal what pops up.

We did this area of lake of the woods I walleye fish alot, also for Whitey's and pan fish.

We got tonnes of musky and pike in the 50-57" range, mind blown!

Oh and like 8 billion tulibee
