As a child, me and my pops trolled walleyes all day. My dad caught 40-50 nice walleye. I never even got a bite. Turns out my hook was in my armpit all day!!!! Hurt like hell getting it out. I still give my dad crap fir not noticing. But it is what is is, funny story and ill never forget it!

Canada dominated every aspect of that game. Easily could have been 15-1. That goaltender was unreal!!! Seriously that was an amazing performance by the goaltender, his country should be mighty proud

The Golden shiner lipless bait is gold. Catches many different species, and even works great jigging through the ice for Eyes and Lakers. Lipless crappie is great as well.

I loved 832 when it came out. It quickly replaced most of my pp. after a year maybe year and i half i went back too pp after having few issues with 832 seemingly outta nowhere

Wow 30lb test broken by hand??? Sounds like a dream line lol. Ill be staying far away from this brand, thanks for the heads up! Frig if i tried that with 15lb pp or 832 it would cut my hands off before the line broke lol

I only watched the first then had to go to bed lol. Which father took his jersey off? Thats crazy especially hiw much the commentators talked up the farhers taking them to practices, tying alot of skates etc. anyhow, watched the highlights before work this am and they looked REALLY flat

Thanks guys, I thought that there may be more to it than just dumb luck. I think I will go ahead and try a few willow blade spinners this year. What do you think about a number 3 willow leaf on a safety pin with a 1/4 oz jig and a twister tail.

I think getting the lure in the fishes face might have a lot to do with it. My biggest walleye 28 inches came on a slow rolled spinner bait with Colorado blades, the very next cast got me a 14-15 inch Crappie. Stupid fish! It's a bass lure! LOL

spinnerbaits are my favourite pre spawn walleye lure. There outstanding for big fish

I don't know why but I love lake trout. I've spent more time on Nipigon trolling for that elusive 30-40lbr then my oldman cares to remember. Don't ask me why, but there's just something about these fish that I love. I think this was fish #3 or #4 of the day. With the front moving in, we were hoping the system would cause them to go on a bit of a feeding frenzy, we were right.. But as soon as that storm showed up, the fishing died almost completely.

 

I was using a custom Loomis icerod made from a float blank (It's either GLX or IMX, Rick, you'll need to tell me!) that a buddy was nice enough to give me or else I might have been in trouble. Paired it up with a Saros 1000, 6lb Fireline Crystal and 6lb Drennan flouro for a lead. I saw this massive mark come off bottom towards my bait, the mark was so thick I thought for a split second that there was something wrong with my finder. Before I could barely start 'the chase' she smashed it... Screamed down to the bottom then went sideways, this big brute just didn't want to come up. Multiple times I had to stick the rod in the hole to avoid the line being shredded by the ice.. I really don't know how long I fought the fish, maybe 20mins or so? The first glimpse of it and we both almost crapped our pants, it looked like a shark below the hole with those massive fins sticking out to the side. We knew it was big, but didn't think it was this big, lol!! We both assumed she was a spawned out female, her fins looked like she's gone through many a spawning cycle.. We got her in, snapped a few pics and she was back in the water in no time. Definitely a PB through the ice for me, and most likely my biggest lake trout ever.

That hit by Kadri was a momentum changer. Kadri should get 6-10 games for that. And I hope the next time we meet, he leaves the ice on a stretcher. Brutal call. All said, the Sens couldn't keep the pedal to the metal and couldn't shut down kesel.
