I got two friends that bought jiffiies last year and hate them lol. They call to borrow mine all winter lol. I'm not sure what issues they have specifically but apparently they cause Tourette's syndrome lol. Another guy that fishes with us here and there has a jiffy that works nice. Maybe their abusing the machines?

some of you people need to be a little more grateful of the law enforcement in this country, Any one that risks there life every single day, well i give my hat off to them. if you want to see a more sensitive type of policing, then you should walk a day in there shoes. My close friends and neighbours are police officers and they get death threats, guns and knifes pulled on them, and have to deal with the feeling of never knowing what your walking into when you approach that car with blacked out windows or are dealing with people with no regard for human life. This is the best country in the entire world and we are all so blessed to live here.

thats not just cops. I was threatened yesterday. I dealt with it accordingly. Cops can be great, cops can be horrible. Just as every other human.

While i am admittedly not a huge believer in the AGW catastrophe that we hear about daily and am likely biased as a result, when i see some of the believers and the associated other conspiracy theories they hold i can only become less of a believer. This thread is embarassing.

how is it embarrassing to seek answers to questions you might have, regardless of the topic??? You'd be quite the idiot if you never questioned anything or studied things your interested in. Its human nature to study and answer questions you have, isn't it? Heck we do it all the time with fishing. Everything we say about fishing is basically a "conspiracy theory", since none of us are backing up our results with science

I know that pine beetle issue in BC killed huge tracts of trees

weird areas to spray if that was the case. But it could be??? Then again there has been no discussions on infestations or invasive species here locally. That also doesn't explain planes flying from the US when we have planes in the area that could carry that duty. Also, pretty gnarly to spray whatever they're spraying so close to populated areas. Also, some of these planes, well most really are low flying jets.

We just had 3 days off work because of the conditions, well everyone else but me and my better half lol. I used every tool we had in the past few days lol. Gator, snowblower, plow truck, loader and .... Good ol fashion shovel haha

Riots are not a frequent occurrence in Canada, thankfully. There have been 7 hockey riots, by the way. However, when they occur, they get nasty quickly. Toronto has quite a history in this regard. Most recently the G20 in 2010 and the Yonge st. riot of 1992. Most famous was the Christie Pits riot in 1933. Personally, I think the best way to deal with a rioting mob is the old fashioned approach. Call out the militia, read the riot act, "God Save the Queen", and after 30 minutes, if you don't disperse, all's fair game. A riot is a violent event, and needs to be stopped with whatever force necessary to subdue and stop the event.

thats a very well thought out response that I can appreciate:) but times are changing bigugli, and in many ways not for the better. With things going awry withing the world and such, especially with "rights" being stripped from good old fashion contributing citizens, people are concerned. If you watch mainstream media, its scares people to think one day soon we might live in a "police state". We don't see it so much in canada, but look at whats happening in other countries. Can you blame people for fearing military equipment in their own communities??? Now that hasn't happened here and maybe it wont? Who knows? But I will agree that if this type of equipment is used properly, i have no issue with it. I dont wanna see police harmed either(as someone else mentioned). Now one thing that bothers me is peacefull protest vs riot. One is a right, the other is a criminal act. But a peacefull protest can tut into a riot quickly, and can be done on purpose(just think of a month or so ago in Crimea). All it takes is a shot fired from an unknown source and you have changed the event dramatically.

Again even if it's called Geo-Engineering---what is the reason for doing it??

barium is supposedly not the only thing being sprayed, so its tough to say why specifically. It may be for many reasons. Many people who are in areas being sprayed are having damaged soils, and that of course effects food growing etc. in my area, the only thing i can think of is damaging the land and rendering it useless, and using that as a tool to gain mining rights. We sit on huge mineral deposits but its on treaty land. The aboriginals are saying an absolute no to mining these areas. Things might change if the land is useless so to speak??? Who knows. I thought a lot about this in the last few yeas watching the planes spray the same areas almost daily(in spring/summer/fall). And in all honesty, its te only thing i could rationalize. Doesn't mean its true though but who is gonna answer the questions???
