  1. Reims definitely picked it up after letting in those 2 softies. Quick was the only reason the game was close. He stoned Bozak 4-5 times lastnight?

haha you could sense his frustration. 5 shots on net is a good night but Bozack had 5 shots that shoulda all been goals.

Quick is something else in net.

  2. as a Leafs fan I dont have many issues with Gardiner.

sure he gives up the puck here and there but he plays hard and is getting better in his positioning.

the kid has a bright career ahead of him.

wait until the leafs are abit stronger on defense Gardiner will wreak all kinds of havok on teams when he jumps in

  3. Nothing wrong with a 5 pound pike. Pike makes a great Brodetto, Italian fish stew you can have on pasta too in a spicy white wine tomato sauce. Even the "Y" bone meat can be processed into fish cakes. The former father in law wouldn't even let a pike into the boat, called them snakes. During the weekly fish fry at the cottage we did up a pike and put in on his plate. He said "now that's what I'm talking about", " It's one of those snake fish Dad", he didn't believe us.

I cant feed my family on a sporting license so if my kids dont fish with me when i go out and we have a fry planned best believe im keeping some pike.

thats funny you did that to your dad haha. I did the same to my kids that LOVE deer meat but hate moose meat. served them the moose and said at deer and they were asking for seconds even thirds lol

  4. we buy shares into a local farm. one of the best purchases we've ever made.

chickens, beef and pork every year.

we got all the produce we want every saturday or sunday through the season

they grow tons of herbs as well.

they also teach locals to can etc...

local farms can go above and beyond and we appreciate it greatly...

no doubt its saved us thousands in food cost in the last two years, and the food is unreal good

our kids have fun too cause they let us go out and even pick food if we choose

  5. all they needed to refer to was umbrella rig. this is an advertisement.

and by the way they suck in nw ontario.

ive got one umbrella rig(ontario legal) and ive tried it on every lake I fished the past two years.

guess what Ive caught? not one fish...

and it is indeed made by Yum

they may work for stripers, or the the big southern ontario lakes, or american resevoires, but they arent worth the pot to piss in up here IMO.

  6. I have a habit of catching good sized musky in front of a crowd. My buddy and I were fishing in our first boat- a 12ft jon up on Lake Restoule. The boat had a tiller style electric motor with a four foot handle extension. We are off a little patch of weed in front of a cotttage with a family gathering when BOOM my Grim Reaper gets attacked by a 46" ski. First fish in this boat and I'm in the bow. Fish gets close to the boat and I realize that he might get all tangled in the trolling motor. I yelling at my friend to pull it up but its a really small boat and he can't reach around me. So with a mighty heave I give the trolling motor rope a pull. The four foot handle swings across the front of the boat and knocks me ass over tea kettle into the water. Managed to land the fish but dang it that was embarrasing and hilariosly funny. I only wish there would have been go pro back in those days. Americas funniest home videos here I come.

the mike ianconelli of musky ???

  7.

It's funny, I actually sat with an old Native friend just this afternoon who's point of view is, there should be no such thing as catch and release fishing at all. It harms fish for no good reason, gives them "infections" and is a pointless waste of time. He certainly doesn't agree with "sport"fishing and when I brought up tournament fishing to joke, he nearly got up and walked away. "Terrible thing the White ego," he said.

He's obviously in a minority as well. :w00t:

yep. ive seem that on my rez. fish for a meal and any more then you can eat go to elders

I have zero issue with that

  8. I wear my firefighting boots most the time lol

a pair of good socks and move around abit if needed

i carry those heater pack things in my lowrance case but I dont recall using them for my feet. they work well on my hands though:)

im pretty active on the ice though so I dont get cold often. I wear a monkey suit or my helly hanson gear and im usually in a sweatshirt right away, even in -30

  9. I guess I'm in the minority here, I'm somewhat surprised. I wonder why someone with a non resident license can't possess one? Or any resident a Sturgeon. I'm not being holier than thou, I just don't agree with keeping any trophy fish, be it a Bass, Walleye, Pike or Musky. I can't believe a fish that old can taste any good anyway. Just my opinion.

Actually had Deer and Walleye today and it was great. And no I don't belong to P3TA.

I hear ya dood. I dont keep trophy fish nor would I want to. Ive kept one big bass and one big walleye because of deep hooking crankbaits. I did not enjoy it one bit.

but it is what it is

maybe the guy has ten kids at home to feed? lol

  10. last year ice fishing NW Bay Rainy Lake me and my partner ran into a couple of his buds. bonus some fishing company and great weather!

ice was maybe 8" and pretty clear for rainy lake, but we had trouble locating the big walleyes we caught the day before. we had a good mixed bag going though pike crappie perch a few small walleyes and i got my first ever whitey

anyhow this other guy gets a big bite and runs to his rod holder but its too late! nice expensive rod and reel gone.

we were teasing him pretty hard when buddy number two get a big bite and the fight is on! it looks like a bigun so we wonder over to help.

he gets it to the bottom of the hole and its a beauty of a walleye! maybe 29-30"er

one problem. its got buddy number ones rod somehow wrapped around it and they try and try and try but cant get it through the hole.

in disgust he cuts his line and now we have two pissed of anglers yelling at each other...

so I says" you know, the rod was right there, you coulda just grabbed it, cut the line and got your rod back, and your bud coulda landed his fish!"

it was one of the dumbest things ive ever seen from two guys claiming to be big time guides hahahaha

after some bickering between the two, they finally got in the laugh fest with my partner and I
