yes, there is a transom saver... You can see it laying on the ground in this pic lol

Was hoping some one would be able to give me some advice on the upcoming transom repair I'm about to undertake. My boat, a 2002 Polar Kraft is a great boat, I love it, but the 115HP honda on it is just too heavy, even though the boat is rated for a 150hp(new Polar Kraft are rated by weight not HP, imagine that!) anyways, the transom had a bow in it, so we put together a stainless steel brace and that worked good for a season or so. This spring when I took it out storage and was cleaning it up, dreaming of getting it out on the water, I noticed some huge cracks!!! You can see the brace that I had made, I think I either need to replace the transom, or find a way to brace it under the floor.. Hoping someone could help me out with some thoughts... My other thought was to just get it welded, change the motor to something smaller and sell it... I've tried to contact polar kraft, not getting any response from them so far... I'd atleast want their advice lol Thanks for looking and to see all the pics I've taken go here

Nice truck Lew, I have the 09 with the 4.6, Love it and everything about it. So much room on the inside... It's my second Super Crew, had an 05 as well, it was a pig on gass, the 09 is a miser... when pulling the boat I get twice the mileage... Mark

Looking to take my wife ice fishing later this week for her birthday(new years eve actually). We are looking for a place that offers ice cabins, we want to stay one or two nights. We wouldn't mind catching some walleye or some pike. Any suggestions as to where we should try? I called a couple of places that I could find, but they were booked up already. Thanks, Mark

Do it now... weather it's your spouse, your kids, siblings, parents, or pets! Say it when you can, you never know what might happen! Last night my mother in law passed on, she had been in the hospital for some minor surgery, ended up going into Cardiac Arrest early this morning, she slipped away around 8am. I know I told my mom when I broke the news to her this morning. Mark

I just got this reel this summer and last time I was out the clicker broke! Everything else still works, but the clicker doesn't. Would it be easy to take apart and fix it myself? I don't really want to be without this reel with the pending fall musky season upon us! Thanks!

you think that's bad? I just get to wash my hair with a wash cloth!!!!!

Well done! I sort of know what it's like to hang on to win. My sister in law caught a winner back in 92 or 93 I think... she was walking on eggshells the whole week lol Congratulations once again!

hoping someone could help us find the right person or company to demolish this bard and clean up the mess it's left. We are in the Brantford area. The barn was so rotted I don't think there would be much wood to reclaim, if any at all Thanks, Mark

Sorry for your Loss Wayne, you've had a tough summer, our thoughts are with your family at this time. -
I keep reading about how fantastic dragging tubes can be for bass. Unfortunately for me, I'm not really experienced this. What's your best/most productive way to fish these baits for bass? I've tried jigging them, I've tried barely touching them at all, but haven't really had the success I think I should have with them. Any suggestions or tips for me?

Well, since the wife bought us a family ticket for the Salmon Derby I thought we had better get out there and actually use it. Was going to try out of oakville or Bronte unless someone has some better information as to where the fish have been hanging out lately? thanks! Mark

Really starting to get excited for this trip. Only 3 weeks away now. Anybody make it up there this summer?

I've been waiting to see this report lol Looks like you guys had fun, too bad about the weather though, it's always cool to meet new people from strange lands without having to shoot them lol It is a LONG drive up there, but well worth it. Thanks for the report.

Steve, no doubt, the wife was huffing and puffing she was so excited. I guess I should take the time to tell the story of the one that got away. It was the biggest fish we've ever had on the end of a rod. She fought it for about 7 minutes which is really long for a musky. It got to the boat and ran back out three times. Finally it got to the boat and decided to go under, it pulled the wifes rod down and as soon as the rod hit the boat it exploded into two pieces... The fish was still on so I grabbed the line and was going to horse it in, it was right at the boat, but when I let off on the line to pull in the broken half of the rod... bye bye fishy. We were going to invite you down for a day, but we had some problems with the boat. It seems my motor is too heavy for my boat, so I had to take it in for service and get a fancy bracket made for it. Didn't know for sure what my schedule was going to be... Mark

In theory I suppose they help protect the fish. In reality they protect my girlish hands more! I was tired of getting my fingers shreded by teeth and fins and gills etc. They have saved me from alot of pain
