  1. No, it's not them. It turns out to be Ravencraft Boat Covers, which is located in Concord and not Woodbridge. Thanks
  2. Anyone know the name or number of this Boat Cover guy in Woodbridge???
  3. What is a Profile Feee? Where does this appear on my posts?

  4. Well, I couldn't wait and took the boat to get done professionally. I went to Heritage Marine in London. Jim Ward is the owner and did a fantastic (and quick) job. I called around and Jim was the most knowledgeable person that I spoke too. I would highly recommend that anyone looking to get similar work done to their boat that they contact Jim at Heritage Marine.
  5. Unfortunately, weather has not been nice enough to work on the boat. Soon, maybe next weekend.
  6. I was able to get the paint from carquest in Brampton. Nice girl Paola mixed the paint on the spot. Cost was $24/can. I also purchased the self-etching primer for $11/can. I have not tried it out yet, and as soon as I get some better weather (over 15 degrees), or find a shop where I can put the boat inside and work on it, then I will report back. Thanks everyone for the help. Romeo.
  7. I called paintscratch and they cannot send aerosol paint cans accross the border. DAMN. Also they did not have any of the aluminum etching paint to prepare the surface after the filmoform, or whatever Wayne called it, is removed from the boat. I will try the Scarborough place tomorrow. I also read somewhere that Home Depot carries an aluminum primer that does a decent job. Any suggestions?
  8. Don't bother. All the outfitters have left the lake for a reason. Only the Bayview Resort is left and they only put out a few huts. Fished it last year from morning to night. Move about 6 times and caught nothing. Didn't even get a mark on the sonar or see anything on the underwater camera. I had heard there were some crappies through the ice, but not when I was there. If you go there is a public parking at the launch on the north side of the lake, but I don't remember the name of the road. Good luck and post if you go.
  9. Anyone know someone that will do it for me??? That's what I would prefer.
  10. What the heck is the "filiform corrosion" ????
  11. I have a 2008 Lund Aluminum Explorer Sport that needs some paint. The Lund colour is "sandstone" and "arctic white". The aluminium paint under the boat cleats and around the back eyes has bubbled off and needs to be removed and replaced (see picture). I am trying to either find someone that can do the touch ups for me, or a source for the two aersol cans with the Lund colours and do it myself. I would prefer getting someone to do it for me. I have already obtained the Lund paint codes, but can not source anyone to make me two cans for the touch up. Any help or suggestions would be helpful. The boat is in Vaughan/Richmond Hill right now. Thanks.
  12. That would do it. I am going to go to King City Trailers to see if they can do the modification. I will keep you posted and thank you.
  13. Trust me, I have thought about all those and even taking out the middle post between the two car single door garages. But, if there is a trailer with a shorter axle and/or maybe the tires more under the boat, rather than beside the boat, I might be ablet to put it into the garage.
  14. I have an 18ft Lund boat on a Shorelander Trailer, but a single car garage. You guessed it, the trailer is too wide for the single car garage. The garage door is almost wide enough, but the trailer fenders hit the side just by inches. I'm thinking that if I can get a skinner trailer it would fit. I may have to back up the trailer by hand, but it would keep it out of the driveway and I wont have to empty the boat every time I go fishing. Anyone know which manufacturer makes the skinniest trailer? I tried various web sites and they are terrible. Thanks for any help.
  15. Anybody in for a Group Purchase????????? If anyone has a connection, then I would be willing to buy 2.
  16. I was there on the long weekend. Water temps are just about pushing 70s, with the shallow bays in the 70s. Water levels are high so you have to watch the electronics for submerged shoals. The fishing was okay, hard to find any good concentration of fish. As has already been said, the size is small, but there are the occasional larger ones, but maybe only one in a day. We mostly fished baldheaded jigs with worms. I caught a few on gulp alive, orange and yellow with a twister tail. The big fish was caught on a husky jerk in shallow water (go figure). Also did well trolling harnesses tipped with minows. Try a jigging spoon near the shoals and let me know how it goes. Cast it out and rip it as soon as it hit bottom, and repeat. Good luck
  17. Whereabouts were you and what did you use. Also, what time of day were you catching fish.
  18. I was on Sturgeon on Saturday as well. Didn't do that well either. We only got 2 SMB and one perch. I saw a lot of boats and no one was catching walleyes. Nobody was able to find the fish. Honestly, I didn't even see one on the sonar. WHERE WERE THEY. Anyone find the walleyes on Sturgeon on Saturday?
  19. I just checked the 2.0L turbo has the same towing capacity (2000 kg), as the 3.2L non-turbo. But the turbo has more ft lbs of torque at 258. So ... I'm thinking of getting the turbo???
  20. I plan on getting the 3.2L motor, not the turbo 2.0. The boat weighs 1500lbs, plus fuel, plus gear, plus the trailer, which I estimated at 2700lbs total. I plan on fishing at most 4hrs north, but mostly will be driving 2 hours north. I go out 10 - 12 times a summer. The trailer has surge brakes and is a single axle. If anyone has a Q5 with the tow package and wants to go out fishing, bring your truck and I provide the boat!!!! This way, I can see exactly how it tows the boat.
  21. I want to purchase a Q5 for towing. It says it has a 4400 lbs tow capacity. I want to tow my Lund fishing boat, which weighs 2700 lbs with the trailer. Would this be able to tow the boat? I know it is not recommend to tow up to the towing capacity of a vehicle, but what percentage of towing capacity is okay to reach? Thanks.
  22. I have heard that some engines require that the plugs are lined up in a certain direction for the engine to fire. In other words, the electrode has to be pointed in a certain direction. I would think that the engine would have to be marked at the plugs with an arrow, then it would be a matter of marking the plugs so that they line up in the right direction. Just a suggestion, that based on the facts might be the cause. Check your owner's manual or download one from the manufacturer's website.
  23. As this is your first boat, I woud recommend a LUND. It has the highest resale value, so if you don't like it, sell it.
  24. Also, if anyone knows an ice hut operator, please pass along that information. Thanks again.
  25. Me and the boy were thinking of going to fish Wood lake. Wood lake is just northeast of Orillia. Anyone finished this lake? If so, please let me know of any good spots. Thank you Thank you
