It wasn't exactly what you said but was able to figure it out. "Network sonar" on and off under my sonar options did the trick
-
Fixed! You really have to muck around with these new units. I can understand why ppl are intimidated by them.

Will waypoints still be shared if i uncheck that sharing option?

Will try. Thanks. Ill let ya know if it works

So I was out on the river today and realized I cant isolate my bow unit from my console unit. (Ethernet connection). When i pick the source on one unit its changing them both. I run a bow and a transom transducer so I need these units isolated. The only way i was able to correct the problem was of course to unlpug my ethernet connection. As far as i know this is a new problem and was working fine on previous trips. Unless i didnt notice it. Any lowrance pros know whats going on?

Thanks. Im just going to get a new one. No reason to mess around

Gonna definitely look into agm type batteries

I got a great gift for xmas this year. I got one of those power boost dealies. Compact booster pack. Great idea for the boat. Takes up no space

Pls dont mention tows or paddling lol

Ive load tested it my cranker and it drops to 10.6 volts when i start it. Ill push it for some more trips but i will likely be replacing this year. Going to give my terminals a good cleaning today since i saw a bit of oxidization when i looked the other day

If I did have the room for another battery I totally would consider it but I only have a compartment for one starting battery. Thanks for the advice and the link. Will be looking into this new battery likely this season. This is great forum thanks for all the input.

Im running a a 150 merc v. I have two big lowrance hds units. Its seems better to have a deep cycle battery to run two "computers" livewells, lights than to be draining a cranking battery.
-
Thanks for the replies fellas. What is your opinion about buying a deep cycle battery for cranking and running big graphs and also running live well and recirculators often? Is it a good idea? Im sure there is 100 threads on this question already. Any opinions, experiences?

I'm going on year 6 with my cranking battery. Graph has been showing 12.2-12.3 volts with graphs running and livewell. Checked cell levels and notice all 6 were a bit low so I topped them up with STERILE water not DISTILLED. Didn't realise there was much difference until afterwards. I was told by a battery company that bottled drinking water is safe. I had a hard time believing that. My question is will sterile water harm my battery cells? And another question. Will I notice an increase in voltage after topping them up and giving them a charge? Thanks for any help. I'm trying to understand batteries so I can take better care of them in the future.

Well done! Great vid. I fished a few times out in front of mbay this fall but didn't have that type of success on the smallmouth. I knew fish were around but they were very difficult to coerce. I mainly tried swimbaits, spinnerbaits and drop shotting. Good call on the wacky worm, should have have given it a go. They wouldnt touch a drop shot finesse minnow or drop shot tube. Only got a couple smallmouth each day. Was able to get one whopper by the drop off at tic tac that was 5lb11oz but that was my only bite that day. The largies on the other hand kept me busy this fall in the same locations you were.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. Good stuff!

Just curious if ppl have confidence with preserved minnows (saltys) when live bait is hard to find or too far away? The application is for tipping jig heads and jigs with plastics especially this year for the Detroit River and St clair river. I have definitely not been able to build up confidence using them with ice fishing. Live has always out fished them even when my live bait was dead LOL. I'm thinking of giving them a try especially because you lose less of them jigging. Any input or personal experience is appreciated. Thanks

Thanks. That pretty much answers my question.

I'm getting an hds 9 gen 3 for my main console. I have a HDS5 gen 2 at the bow. I'm looking at running my LSS2 transducer straight to thhe hds 9 and then running ethernet cable up to the bow. My hds 5 does have structure scan capabilities. My question is. Can I still access my structure scan/chartplotter from my hds 9 but run my bow mount 2d transducer on a split screen? This sounds complicated but do I have to unplug the ethernet cable to get my normal 2d sonar from my trolling motor transducer?

definitely a cougar

I really appreciate the feedback everyone. Thanks. At least I know what to expect. Hope they give me a good deal on an upgrade.
-
Would it bw a bad idea for someone to try and fix it then? Lol
-
Either way the unit is out of warranty and Ramakkos said they would offer credit and give choiced towards upgrading at a fee
-
Thanks for the input. I did call Navico which is apparently the lowrance headquarters in mississauga and they refered me to ramakkos or radioworld. I did call up a freind of mine who fixes computer and cell phones screens and he said he would look at it. It doesnt sound to promising to hear that they arent really repairable. I wonder why they would do that? To answer your question is the corner and bottom of the screen that has gone black and its slowly getting bigger. The repair guy said it was"bleeding". Once I put the boat away and follow up with the unit I will leave an update for those who have had the same problem. It really is too bad that these units are so hard to fix.

Lots of muskies taken at the mouth last week. Trolling and casting. There will be the odd walleye in the river as well. If you are into largemouth you can flip and pitch the canals and cuts at the lighthouse cove. Venture out into the lake and find some clear water for smallies. South shore is pretty dirty so might have trouble getting a smallie bite. PM if you want more info
