  3. Hello So I posted WHO WOULD LIKE TO GO ICE FISHING and Mark AKA BUICK14 posted lets go.... So 8am off we go to Cooks Bay for some perch action.. Arrive to find that there isnt alot of people fishing where we were. So I check the Navionics for the IPHONE and off we go looking for 23- 27 ft of water... When we set up the hut and started fishing Mark pulled out his AQUA VIEW (very cool by the way) and I pull out my sonar and we start catching fish right way.. The action was hot and steady with breaks of about 10-20 minutes between schools of fish.. Half way though the day A CO stops by to check for licenses and off he went...Good to see them on the ice, I dont mind being checked.. Here are some pics for the day, the last pick is 30 good size fish for the table with over 50 released and probally another 50+ missed.. OUR BOUNTY INSIDE AND OUT OF OUR FORTRESS Thanks again to BUICK14 (mark) for a great day and I look forward in fishing again soon Dave

  6. Hello After fishing blind this ice season I decided to buy a portable fish finder. My question is about the tranducer, does it have to be under the ice line, or can it sit just under the water. If it has tobe under the ice how do u use it. Do u make a stick that keeps it level or a sponge like what the vex uses. Any help would be appreciated Dave

  22. HEY BUD Its totally ok to harvest eggs from a dead fish, Personally I have done it with dead ( not to old) coho's, and pacifics) I asked Mitch the CO in Durham about it and he said that its cool, but the baggy will count towards the daily limit... better to harvest eggs from a fish that is dead than milk the crap out of a live fish or worsr kill her for the eggs..... Dave
  23. MIKE NIce fish, I want to hear Francis Ford Coppola's comments later. I wish I had a camera for that small atlantic I caught, It would have been my first photo of one on that river... All and all a great day.. Thanks again to you and Ken, It was fun... Dave
  24. No Sorry my misconception was that certain rivers had different access this time of year, Like Wilmont, I was under the impression that it is closed past the CNR bridge, and its not, its HWY 2 I know for sure that Bowmanville is open to HWY 2....and Oshawa is CNR But Hwy 2 and CNR are 50 ft apart... I email Mitch and Wil Wagmen and got the correct info....... I have been fishing these rivers for 15+ years and didnt know Wilmont was HWY 2 after Sept LOL Anyway all I was saying be sure because I know Mitch is out looking for poachers. Dave
