  1. thanks for the repplies Guys Bare foot wader thanks for the reviewing the rods ,i could have bought a switch rod but it's not my style, i have yet to handle a G-loomis, a friend has one customized when Loomis was still in Canada it's also 8wt 10 foot paid for it 10 years ago about $700 or $800 from what he told me Till this day the rod never seen a reel on it. I'll try to convince him this year to sell it to me LOL once i get the time I'll go around looking for the St.Croix 8wt 10' aplumma I agree with you 100% on that it's all how it suits you, not who makes it , Ive handled 700$ sage and St.Croix for some reason I preferred the Croix and it was less than half of the price of the sage. I'm selling some of my fishing gear and Knife collection to funnel fly fishing, since owning quality gear that preforms well comes at an expensive price. thanks for the Info and suggestions guys Tight lines Shadowfly
  2. Hello Ctranter i just finished checking out Amundson website nice looking rods, and not expensive at all. please do send me the reps info Cuzza ; year and half ago I was at a Fly shop and the dude checked the St.croix catalog and said they don't make it in 10ft 8wt, yet here you send me a link . did they come out with that 2011? i like st.croix rods. once i tie some flies this week I'll try to go out on weekends mornings I'll drop you a line if i do go thanks for the replies guys Tight Tines Shadowfly
  3. hey spinnerdoc Ive handled the imperial and the 11ft imperial switch rod as well. imperials come in 9ft and 11ft for 8wt if I'm not mistaken. 10ft single handed is rare what i was told by some fly fishermen , the tournament legend however has a 10ft long i think it's around 400$ i have to check with angling specialties that's what i had in mind in the first place but it's a bit over priced for this years budget. wymen Ive being to with a fly about year ago he had mostly switch rods and spey rods and most were 9ft gray's , i agree with you good fly rods aren't cheap, Angelo knows his stuff really well even the guys hang out there are hardcore fly fishermen. have to find the time this week to go to some stores. and check out the selection.
  4. Hey cuzza thanks for the info , I'm looking for an 8wt I'll be using it single handed, not looking for a double handed rods. The waters I'll be fishing are local Mississauga and Oakville . I have narrowed it down to this 8wt (3 or 4 or 5 pcs depending on the manufacturer) 10'- 10'6" and the reel I'll be using is a Bauer M3 I heard TFO makes great rods for the money , i found this one under the lefty kresh professional series TFO 08 10 4 P 8 Wt. 10'-0" 4pcs 5.4oz IM6 Graphite $194.95 I'll have to go check it out. hey Torco im with you on the 4pcs very handy and less space to transport and wont' have to worry about breaking or scratching the rod since i drive a small car, having the rod being 4 or 5 pcs. it can be stored safely anywhere thanks for the info guys.
  5. That's called the perfect meal for One.
  6. me being 27 now i prefer cougars 35-48 but will that change when Im a bit older and ready settle down?, that i don't know but until then I'll enjoy my time... any good cougar clubs around mississauga? LOL jk
  7. Hey Spinnerdoc if you get a chance try Cameron's Brewing Company out of Oakville . id say prob one of the best beers I've had ..
  8. thanks for the reply guys ,I'll give temple fork a look i know angling specialties has a few but only 9ft apparently 10' or 10'6" fly rods aren't really popular here locally so finding one seems hard at least with my price range . danjang i haven't heard of ECHO rods have you used yours yet? if yes how do you like it.? hey Edwin thanks for info on the tapers ,I'll try to get me a 3 or 4 pcs rod but have to stay with my budget can't go spending crazy $$$$$ on gear like last year LOL .
  9. Hey guys I'm in the market for a new fly rod with the length of 10" or 10'6" max 11' but at the same time don't want to break the bank. looking to spend 200$ max any suggestions? another question, are 4 section rods just as good as 2 sections in both strength and action? thanks in advanced

  12. Hey guys it's my first time attempting to cure salmon eggs i have put them in lake water and in a glass jar. i kept what i need and gave the rest to other fishermen but don't know the next procedures how to keep them for more than a year any help would be great preferable simple procedure non of the borax and coolaid recipes some have mentioned to me in the past. cheers and tight lines.
  13. That's awesome dude, fishing with your paps I take my neighbor most of the time that I go. The poor guy can't walk more than 40 feet without taking a 5 min break, he sure loves every minute of the fishing he gets, especially now more than ever since he's really sick .I try to take him out few times a week for as long as I can. catch some more dude Tight Lines

  16. hey thanks for the reply i will be using it for trout mostly it will be my main river rod.
  17. if i can own only 1 general purpose rod. id go with 6'6" - 7 ft Shakespeare ugly stick lite 44$ with a Daiwa tournament whisker SS1300 97$ (very reliable reels i own 2 my self) spooled up with with either maxima line or 15 lb spider wire stealth braid. total combo less than $150 P.S. Le-baron have a tax free event until the 21st (Sunday)
  18. Hey guys Lebaron has a special until Sunday with no tax event I was thinking of buying a fly reel , already invested in quality fly line, now i need a nice reel to go with it both pflueger (president $159) and (trion $120) felt nice. have any of you had any good or bad experiences with either one? I'm not going to spend more than $160 on a reel for this rod. all suggestions welcome.
  19. im glad that your not starting out with a 20$-50$ bait casting reels just to see if you like it. buying a cheap bait casting is asking for trouble, nothing but birds nest and will make a good fishing day into a miserable one . since you plan on getting the Citica E id spend few bucks more and get the curado E. both the curado and the citica are made in Japan. when ever it comes to bait casting reels you need to get quality made which requires a bit more $$$$ , therefor i lean towards the Japanese or Swedish. trust me you get your money's worth in the long run.
  20. no addiction here , just the love for being away from the daily routine away from it all. my ex girlfriend used to say I'm addicted to fishing . in a heated argument one day she gave me the option sell all my gear , rods and reels and get married and do more "FAMILY ACTIVITIES " or she will go her way well Told her gonna miss her , my last words to the poor women wore a lie since i don't miss her at all.
  21. hey blue Lk you might want to give these video a look. it seems interesting to try out with a fly rod. he has some good tips Vid 1 vid 2 tight lines.
  22. Hey guys it's time for me to upgrade my waders. the once i have now are damaged (with a hole in the shoe. cheap walmart bush lite brand.) I'm looking to get waders that will last me few years at least. any recommendation. yet I don't want to go crazy spending extreme $$$$$ on waders. thanks in advanced.
  23. Hey guys just curious on what you all think regarding fly rod wt what is your favorite wt ? and for steel head fishing or salmon fishing 8 wt or 9 wt.? thanks in advanced
  24. For me, i guess it's the love for the water, the nature that surrounds it. and best part, appreciating it. if there is anything Id like to pass on to my kids and grand kids one day is the passion of fishing and appreciation of mother nature. at age 5 I remember my fishing rod being piece of branch about 5 foot long, fishing line, hook , washer for weight and cork for a float. and had a blast just being on the water rather than playing Atari. were all haunted by waters.
