  1. Has there ever been charges pressed on a poacher not caught in the act, but with a picture for proof or sending a licence plate #? Just curious if it works.

The opp in caledonia has had there hands full, last summer on there breaks they were taking walks along the river.Asking friendly how the fishing was going.Thats all. They were on there break. And a good bunch they were.

  2. you tell me,tried to take a pic but the cell died.Caledonia dam sunday mid morning. At this time a few officers drive by,slowdown and look.Havent seen an officer all morning. So I interfered with the third rod.In a suttle manner hoping for someone to notice and take a pic.Officers in a local fishing area as such should be able to monitor for the mnr.Or maybe a camera? That would help. :dunno::dunno: an extra expense i guess.Just my 2 cents, but if anyone was out there that day.I would like to hear your opinion.

  3. 4. Hey guys, looking for your opinion, I know it's a lond read but bare with me....

I purchased a Shimano Scimitar 6’ 6” SMS66MH2A medium heavy fast action rod in late August because after catching that big LMB, didn't want to be put in a position to fight another biggun with a medium action light setup that I have.

Once I had tried the new one.... just could not believe how light it was, sensitive, really enjoyed it. But that did not last for long <_< In late October while testing my 5" spook that I created, broke the tip off it :wallbash: I was really heart broken about this <_<

Brought the broken rod to the store I bought it from and they told me, they would ship it to Shimano, no questions asked and would take a couple of weeks. Sounded great to me. Deer season went by and no news.... so I phoned the store, they told me that they haven't receive it yet.

So I says to myself, OK maybe next week.... Well it took over a month before I got a call from them.... but that isn't what I'm posting about..... Once I got the call to pick it up, got to the store and the clerk handed me the new rod.

Thought to myself B) Rod seemed to look the same as the one I had bought. Checked the underside of the main shaft to see what was written on it and what I read was not the same :wallbash:

It read SMS-66M-2A and the one I bought a couple of months ago was SMS66MH2A.

And this is after I had paid $11.30 for it. So I says to the clerk, " Why am I getting a lesser model that I had paid for " She replied " Nothing I can do "

Man was I ever peaved off. Left the store and got home.... could not believe that a renowned company like Shimano would do this. So off I went on the Internet to get an address.

Had a hard time to get one, found one and sent a angry client email to them. That was a couple of days ago and still did not hear from them. So this is why I wanted to post this rant of mine to see if any of you had bad service with the said company.

It won't prevent me from fishing but won't the same with a rod of the same type I have in stock.

Any body knows an email address I can send it to??

Any feedback would be much appreciated

    Thanks ever so much

    Jacques

I just looked for the one I bought looking at your thread.I looked and remeber it breaking on a snag.I know now where it is.In the drink.Where I pitched it.Im sure some one found it and had it fixed.Used it twice, never again.A baitcasting rod med/light action 6ft or so.
  5. Cheers to you jim,I receive the same from my two girls all the time.My oldest received an A plus on the fathers day outing trolling for pickerel an at school project for fathers day.I was skunked and she nailed one.My good luck charm. At binbrook ice derby ,she had third place and dead center on the photo, for that ice tourney 2 years ago.

  6. I have a problem on my old spoons.I wire brush them down so there is a rough base to stick to.I have tried hanging them and laying them flat. Its like runs in a paint job and it affects the glow, its uneven.I have tried preheating a few ways. The toaster oven would be ideal with a temp sensor, but the wife hitting me upside the noggin evertime ,I use it for that reason to get an even temp, but my noggin like the spoons are uneven. Thanks dear. But any way If I was to preheat in the oven, what would be an ideal temp? Thanks. The product works great, just needs some fine tuning.

  7. Thanks Rick.

Problem is the hole dash light trick only works sometimes just like the signals.

The switch for my dash is on the signal arm.

Looks like it is the multi-function switch. Why does that thing cost so much?

does your signal stat(multy function switch) control everything that is going wrong. All to common on older vehicles.A main ground is where to start. If all functions that are failing, and share the same ground start there.A corodded harness, burnt wire in the plug, in the column itself can make an array of problems.Has there been a burnt fuse when this started happening, local to the column switchs?pm me I may have a friend to help you in your area.
  8. I have tried this this powder(glow in the dark)and it works. My issue is that when I do it according to instructions the powder tends to run, tried other ways, experemented and I let it be.Has anyone had success with this or is there a better product out there. For jigs it was fine, its the spoons Im having an issue with. Thanks

  9. I've been fooling around painting old lures and jigs. I'm aware lure paint is commercially available, but I just used some of those little "Testors" enamel paint that is made for models. After I let them dry for a day or two I use a product (stolen from the wife) which is a colourless nail polish called "tough as nails" which acts as a chip-resistant clear coat and gives a nice shine when dry. I've tested some them underwater for a couple hours in a bowl and everything seem to hold up just fine.

The thing is, I keep worrying about that model paint. Does anyone know with any certainty whether or not using that product for this application is a good idea? I know it has lead in it, but lots of fishing tackle does. Probably some of the factory painted baits in our boxes are covered in lead paint. It seems to be water resistant, but maybe it won't survive extended real-world use.

    ???

I use brodak paints, dope and thinners.I use it mainly for balsa float and a few wooden lures I made,A little wet sanding after the the butyrate dope clear and some clear coat over it should do it.for extra protection.A lot of work but worth it.You can find them at a hobby shop.
  10. The problem with this whole us 'n them thang between the pro-union and anti-union sectors is that in the end it's just like the politicians we love to hate - it smacks too much of what's best for the party and too little about what's best for everyone.

Okay, I'll admit up front I'm not a union sympathizer. I believe that back in the day the unions did a good thing for the downtrodden wage labourer but today it's come full circle to the point that unions have become the bullies and the only way to fight them is to keep them out of the shop. That's what Walmart is doing and I can't say I blame them. It's not out of the question that Walmart is a hardnosed employer but if the unions had used a little restraint and good judgment in the past in how they worked their end of the deal they might have kept the door open to being in all the shops that needed them. They've been guilty of overkill and it's costing the labourers of the world now. Dunno what the answer is but the unions have screwed themselves. They're a dying breed, and that's a fact. Look around at how little sympathy they have outside of self pity.

Kinda like politicians today. Anyone here really feel a whole lotta love and trust for them any more?

compare stelco(uss now or was) to dofasco, whois still working.I am not employed by either, but I know a lot who are.Who is happier nowa days?I wish I was a dofasco employee.no union but will ante up.

  11. Your right roy,But to have a license# in hand or a copy isnt.the ministry can check it threw your drv.lic#,date of birth. In my trade 99% of the time registrastions/ownerships are copies, and legal.Due to the circumstances. Now I spoke to an officer years back about copies. He said depending on the issue and ID to verify, there should not be an issue. It may pend on the discretion of the officer. But to buy another license is fine as long the purchaser is notifying the mnr about the change.I had to do the same 8 yrs ago.And for boat reg and ins, copies are in all vehicles and the originals stay at home, regardless.Just my 2 cents worth.not to stirr a ruccus, just my 2 cents. We pay enough they should send use an extra card, same as the boating license.
