  1. I know that spot lol

how far was it again i forget lol

    Nice one Vince clapping.gif

just for you bud, head due east, when you see water continue on about 10 miles. Turn for due north and aim towards the cn tower. Keep your speed at 40mph, when the boat hits shoreline your theregood.gif There are plenty of fish there to catchbiggrin.gifrofl2.gif

  2. The Peel Police Marine unit out of Port Creditl/Promenade Park are first class . thumbsup_anim.gifclapping.gif

They do in fact check boaters at the ramp and issue windshield stickers/tags for the boating season. I place mine prominently and once it's on the boat, I have never been checked/inspected a second time in the same season.

Im going to inquire the hwpd about that, one for the stern and ond for the windsheildgood.gif

  3. When I was running my boat out of Pt. Credit I was checked by the Peel Marine Unit dozens of times with never an issue.

Heck at one point I was checked by the same pair of officers 5 days in a row. dry.gif

You would figure after the first couple of times they would remember me. unsure.gif

Actually it was the same officer that took the info as last time. And on a monday as wellblush.gif

Their just doing their job and kudos to themgood.gif

I have a little something for them to see very soonwhistling.gif Involves a rich guy, a huge cabin cruiser and putting us guys in danger in some sort. While we were trollingmad.gif

  4. Yes in my boat, 4 adults and teen on board.

Passed with flying coloursthumbsup_anim.gif A quick on the spot inspection of my vessel.

He was to the point, and friendly as wellsmile.gif

Sothumbsup_anim.gif to them, esp while they held back untill my lines were brought upthumbsup_anim.gif

They are no different than you or I, and a friendly stufft chat does helpgood.gif

  5. Here my problem with this. In two weeks were taking the grankids up to the cottage(well mudder and pops,it,s a cottage to us.LOL) and were going to stop into santas village. It,s going to cost just over 100 bucks to get in ++++. Thats unreal IMO. Whats so great about this place? Is santa going broke or something? Maybe he runs a gas sled now. Crazy entrance fee if you ask me.

For those that have been, please tell me my money wont be ill spent.

Bring your boat B, and make a left at santas Villagewhistling.gif Then tell the gang your santa with a boatsarcasm.gif Worked for me 2 years backwhistling.gif And they had a blast on the lakegood.gif

  6. Nice bass canada414. I've never really tried the berg for largies. It used to be a good pike lake but now it's snot rocket heaven.

It maybe snot rocket juntion, but there are some big bass and pike in there. I released a skinny 5 lber not too long agowhistling.gif

  7. Yes definitely change in speeds or direction will sometimes cause a strike. If I can mark fish and they won't hit I sometimes pull the lure out of the release after marking fish near the ball. The lure picks up speeds and starts to rise. This has worked in triggering some strikes but I only use this when it's a tough bite.

What releases do you use. I run offshore and cannon's but modify the lenth of the lead to around 16-20" between clip and release. The added length lets me see any small pulls when shakers hit and stay on. You can tell immediately when you have a shaker on.

It's been shaker fest out off Bronte and the other day I only had 2 fish pull the release. All the rest were visual hits on the rod.

Your right, it has been a shacker fest out there, even at the surface. Fun to watch and a nice show indeed.whistling.gif

  8. Hey Art,

I didn't see any yellow letters! Fortunately.

    Thx Vince,

Charged full on Friday pm and ran today and hopefully tomorrow. I'll check the voltage and pm ya tomorrow. BTW, good day for chromes today!

You do mean shackers, right? If not I will give you two bloody noses on the houserofl2.gif

  9. i've used an Ikea bag for years. work excellent! i have 2 drift socks but half the time i find myself throwing the ikea bag over first!

I find the socks take up valuable space thats needed.Being a newbie to this trolling thing, I find the green hd bags tough enough, esp for a buck a bag.And the metro plastic ones will tear easily and still work.

  10. WASJUST SAYIN THAT CHANGE IN SPEED OR DEPTH CAN TRIGGER THE STRIKE. SOME WILL FALLOW IT FOR AWHILE AND WHEN U RAISE OR LOWER BALL OR ESPECIALLY ON TURNS IT WILL TRIGGER THEM. GOOD TO HEAR YA OUT INTO THEM

Perhaps I just got lucky 3 times tongue.gif Keep in mind they were shacker dinks in a huge bait ball.

And yes adjustments to hieght and speed will/can make a difference for sure. thumbsup_anim.gif

  11. I have been toying around to slow my troll down a tad and its worked. This is what I have found so far. I have used the plastic eco bags from the barn etc, they do work but they will rip easily. Ok so I seen the bags at homedepot and gave one a shot todaythumbsup_anim.gif Tough as nails so far for a buckthumbsup_anim.gif No need to cut holes at all, it worked wellgood.gif

On a better note it worked best a foot out and a foot in from the sternwhistling.gif

    Better than 80$ a pop.

  12. CHANGE IN SPEED OR DEPTH CAN ALWAYS TRIGGER A STRIKE. BUT IF HE DIDNT SET THE ROD OFF IM GONNA GO WITH YA BEEN DRAGGIN HIM FOR A BIT LOL

The first one today was dragged around, Then second one even smaller and tripped the lineblink.gif as soon as I hit the switch to the bikini department it was game onsmile.gif My speed was consistant all day.

  13. Thx for the reply Dave. Sorry for the late response. I went back to bed and planned on waking up and starting the day anew sans problems. That didn't work. As you suggested, I pulled the cover and checked all the connections. Everything seemed in order. I sprayed the exposed solenoid piston/shaft with a little bit of lithium and gave the housing a couple of good whacks with a plastic hammer. Taa Daa!! I'm not sure what the root cause was but your reply inspired me to take a second look.

    Thx again Dave. thumbsup_anim.gifthumbsup_anim.gif

    Regards,

    Simon

Charge your batteries up, load them and leave them alone for a day or two. They should be 12.6 v max, and see what they are at afterwards.

  14. While Im trolling at a certain depth, is see a bait ball and fish on the finder and I adjust the riggers to it... Fine, I make a few passes and nothing to show for, then I decide to pull a line well after the bait ball and within 3 to 4 ft of the rigger raising I have a shacker on. blink.gif Im not complaining by any means at all, it happened last week, yesterday and today.thumbsup_anim.gif

Can the reason be that these chromies have been chasing it for a while and the sudden rise intrigued them? Or they saw a bait fish in distress and needed help?tongue.gif

Thanks in advance for your input.

I will be making a post on day 4whistling.gif

There will something interesting in a pic from day 2 in it and ive only seen perch do this plenty of times. Never a chromie first handwhistling.gif Till Then, Thanks.

  15. If you purchased your boat new from a dealer, there will be a record of the key #. Once you get the #, go to a lock smith and have one made. Bring your boat with you , have a key cut,to see if it fits and turns. Adjustments may have to be made. Thats the cheapest route you can go as long as you can get the #. Call the local dealer an have the vin # available, better to be there with boat. No charge for looking it up a number.
