  1. Ok, for the techs, I have another question for you guys. When I replaced my started, the #s on the old one matched up at the auto supply shop and they had one in stockblink.gif . Great I took itthumbsup_anim.gif and cheap, not thinking at the time, that someasshat.gif put an automotive one inwallbash.gif .

Now here is where it gets interesting. I pulled the 2yr old starter out an the housing is cracked, great, no problem!mad.gif So I googled my engine for a starter #thumbsup_anim.gif Then I went to double check the teeth on the gear. On most sites the advertised an 11 tooth but I counted mine its a 9 toothwallbash.gif

Could this have caused it to crack? I dont have the formula in front of me and I know I have counted the ring gear teeth and wrote it down somewhere, just in case 3 yrs ago.wallbash.gif

From what I do recall the serial # starts with a 3. Which makes it an earliar model engine. For about a decade that engine uses the same starter. One short and one long bolt.

    Thanks in advance

    V

  2. Ive heard about walleye in there, but have never seen it myself. ive only caught crappie and small LMB out of there. i see pike get caught there often.

as for C&R while some people obey these rules,at binbrook ive seen people ignore them more often then not. kids that work there pretty much shrug their shoulders when its mentioned to them. what can ya do.

If you can find the clouds of baitfish on your ff, them Im sure that are there. But in all my years of fishing there, my pb is 9 lbs. But that was many moons ago. Ive caught a few others as well much smaller. But there is plenty food for them. So your chances are slim as to catching one.

There a lots of decent size bass and crappy in there as well.

My biggest thing is, is that the park doesnt open early enough. Heres a ff pic that fustrated me for a while one day last yearmad.gif

  3. You have a good eye. My new Princecraft Starfish with Merc 40HP gets me and the wife and gear, doing 32 mph on GPS,and we aint no teeny people eitherwhistling.gif

So there you go Skinny, your tinner runs fine and gets up to speed without any hesitation. And it trolls nicely and steady at the target speed I was looking forwhistling.gifthumbsup_anim.gif

Why mess up a good thing.

If your looking for more speed, then a prop change up would be ideal. But then again you would be up a little in the trolling speed.

Leave it as it is, its not a race boattongue.gif

My boat with gear and two people, 40 mph. But I only want 30mph for the engines sake.

  4. There are WAY too many pics of me this weekend

And there aint nothin wrong with a spongebob rod!

If its any help, ive fished with a dora, and a barbie rod. And seeing a fish on the other end for the kids see isthumbsup_anim.gif They were too scared to hurt the little fishybiggrin.gif

  5. hopefully this helps, not the best pic. But everyone with there sonars mistaken them for perch on their screens and thought the line bumps were hitswhistling.gifrofl2.gif Mind you there were perch in the vacinity laying very lowwhistling.gif

  6. That would be a Shad.

I'd also be willing to venture you were ice fishing the lower Grand River. whistling.gif

  7. I headed off today to meet up with skinny, pike and perch were on my mind. Pike was my main focus, and a little perching afterwards.thumbsup_anim.gif We had a few followers of the toothy critters, 4 on and self released, 1 in the boat and a big one that followed my bait and took a nibblewallbash.gif Trolling along we did manage a few unharmed and released oos bass, and a few surprisesblink.gif Skinny nailed a bluegill with awhistling.gifblink.gif (he can post the pic). I was consistant with my lure and managed a nice 10 incher from it.

Well after a while we stopped for perching and met up with Dan and his boythumbsup_anim.gif

Boy oh Boy can that boy of dans tell a fish storybiggrin.gif It was that big he said, with open arms and a great big smilerofl2.gifgood.gif After a few minutes I noticed dan with some funny fishing poll in his hand and I couldnt resist to take the pic.biggrin.gif

    A picture says a thousand words I sayrofl2.gif
