  1. I'm guessing caught from shore? Amazing fish man, congratulations!
  2. Man that is just outstanding. And I agree this is the best seasonal fishing opportunity available to anyone in our area. (Well that and trolling the south shore of Lake O right now for salmonids...another hot April bite). If I can get my boat repairs done in time I'll definitely be giving it a go.
  3. I just dropped it off YESTERDAY! That's amazing THANK YOU.
  4. I like the job he's done with the Leafs so far. Considering what he had to work with he's done an admirable job. Youngest team in the league now. Some good young building blocks in Bozak, Kessel, Phaneuf, Kulemin and Gustavson. As far as the trade Burke made, there's certainly no guarantee that Boston's pick will be better than a 21 year old Phil Kessel. The trade that really ticks me off as a Leaf fan is JFJ sending Rask to Boston for ....shudder.....Ranford.
  5. Hard to say. I know BillM has been searching for one since last fall with no luck. He might be interested.
  6. There's no heat on Stoty. Pretty sure everyone here likes the kid and wishes him the best! As far the Sabres go, well I wouldn't bet against Ryan Miller in any series. He's the sole reason they're dangerous. Roy and Fang, great pic's.
  7. Fantastic bud, your kids look ecstatic! I wish more than ever I could have joined you. Darn work!
  8. With the super early ice out I'll be up at my camp 1st week of May. Most likely will use them then.
  9. In case anyone doesn't know Spiel is an outstanding custom rod builder. He recently built 2 sticks for me and I wanted to share the results with you guys. Both are 7' 1 piece rods built on Rainshadow XST blanks. One is a baitcaster rated 12-25lb's, the other is a spinning rod rated 10-17lb's. They'll both be put to good use in June on the Attawapiskat. The blanks themselves are gorgeous. Batson calls the finish "titanium chrome". It's kind of satin gray blank, just beautiful. They're incredibly light as well. Right on par with Loomis GLX or the high end St. Croix's. Wraps on both are dark gray with metallic copper trim. My pictures don't really do justice to how nice they really look. Fuji SIC guides on both, simple but very functional handles...I couldn't be happier with the final product. Once again thanks Chris! (Sunday afternoon good to pick up the float rod I just dropped off? )
  10. But...but we didn't drink anything on our day out.
  11. Sorry but that's simply not true. The "fishing show business" does not cater to newbies. In Italos case it is unfortunately a case of him talking down to everyone. He talks to everyone the same way including his wife who happens to be his usual co host. Michael sorry but the first statement is preposterous. The 2nd, well as mentioned he talks to everyone the same way including his wife.
  12. Doh! Paul you found Edna! The gouge on her back is an old rodeo injury. I trained her to eat my roe bags!
  13. That's cool for sure Dan.
  14. Well done! Glad to see the fish are on.
  15. I can't speak for anyone else but I've had first hand experience dealing with Italo. That said maybe I shouldn't have made a negative remark. I'm very happy for you Jaimie you seem like a good kid and it's a big feather in your cap. I sincerely hope it all works out for you.
  16. Okay then Algonquin Park. Very specifically Achray in the S/E corner of the park (access #22 on the Algonquin map). The campsite at Grand Lake is spectacular. Very lightly used, full services, amazing sandy beaches for the kids. I can't say enough about it. In addition the eastern pines backpackpacking trail (it's a small loop) is right there and is great. It's either an easy hike or a relatively short paddle from the campsite over to the high falls area of the Barron river. It's an absolutely remarkable 100% safe natural water slide that you'd defintely have to check out. Grand lake allows small boats and motors as well if you can scrounge up a cartopper. (And fishing is decent as well. )
  17. A fine broth of a lad. He looks like he really wants that pike!
  18. None of the above. If you have access to a boat I can help you out.
  19. Good for you, seriously. But...did he address you like you were a 6 year old kid? He's always had a condescending air about him but I think it's gotten worse over the years.
  20. I can relate to that statement. The f-bombs are a definite sign not to go.
  21. Not sure if Laszlo is using a new hip-hop steelheading lingo. As in: "Yo, those fish are fresh bra!" Or if he really thought they were fresh. Vinnie, (and maybe Las ), for what it's worth those weren't fresh run fish. They were all super charged recovering dropbacks. Many of these fish totally engulfed our baits. The strikes were so vicious our baits were often burried deeply in their throats. Needless to say a wee bit of surgery was required on occassion. They were in a mood to jump and most cleared the water multiple times. Quite a show. Doesn't matter how many times I do it it's still a thrill. It was especially gratifying feeding off Rob's enthusiasm.
