  1. Here's a thought.

Give me one of your prototypes to test out... :ninja: And in return will prepare all the engineering drawings for you for mass production.!! :clapping:

Plus any improvements you want to work in. It's much easier when you have a 3D model, to make little additions/improvements etc...

    Something we can ponder anyways.

I'll be in Lindsay Dec 27th for a family Christmas.

  2. Saw Ice fishing trip.

Saw thread was started by Nick.

Started typing 'I'm in!!!!' Before reading the rest of the forum.

I'm sure the other guys can help on this one. I have no clue. Best of luck getting her hooked.

Don't worry Jer, that post will come soon!

Small lakes locked up last week with a couple cold nights, but looking at the forecast there won't be safe for another 2 weeks I bet. Brutal December so far.

BUT, there will definitely be safe ice by then around here. You could look into renting a hut on Nosbonsing, it usually fishes well early season. I don't imagine a rental being very pricey there. It's a shallow lake that gets good ice early. Also, look into renting an ice bungalow on Rabbit Lake thru Gramps bait and tackle on hwy 11. Walleye and apparently good whitefish fishing.

I will definitely look in to both those places.

Do you know off hand when the Walters open on Nosbonsing?

I certainly know I won't be driving to the dock on New Years Eve this year!!

    Maybe in your boat eh!

  3. So me and my girlfriend have a few days off together between Christmas and New years, with NO KIDS!!

Seeing as I have been able to fully addict my girlfriend to ice fishing, she suggested that we find a place to go ice fishing for a few days.

Now obviously the weather is not being very nice, and things are going to be a little in-predictable. But I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for where we can go with in a 3 hour drive of Barrie, that "Should" have ice late December. I assume Nippissing is completely out of the question, and that's the only place I could thing of..

We have a $500 budget for accommodations for 2 or 3 nights.

Not sure what seasons open at what times up north.

We would like to be on the water, either a lodge or (pipe dream) a sleeper hut.

I was thinking Temagami or Timisikaming area. If anyone is up that way.. Are the lakes even starting to lock up??

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

  4. A friend of mine and his brother are going to start ice fishing this winter.

They are eager. Bought an augar and a pile of gear.

They have a family cottage on Healy Lake near Mactier. But didn't plan on trying to fish it this winter, because they don't have snowmobiles and have never been up in the winter before.

They don't fish much in the summer, and have very minimal fishing knowledge.

I feel like I should help these guys out. And I thought it would be cool to take them to their home Lake and try to catch some fish.

I've heard there's Crappie in Healy. But I was wondering what else is in the lake, and if it's worth runing up this winter.

If im going to take these guys out, I want some good action. I can take them for perch on Simcoe and have a blast. But if it's worth the drive, Healy would be a really fun time for them.

    Anyone fish it recently?

    I'd love some feedback.

  5. I have 3 acoustic guitars, One for the living room (1979 Ovation Matrix), one for the bedroom (Norman B20 Cutaway) and one for travelling (Marin Backpacker).

They all get their fair share of time being played. I actually like the Ovation the best for playing. The action is extra low. It plays like an electric. Aluminum fret board is kind of unique.

I can't really comment on any new guitars, because I don't know much about them. But my old neighbor used to buy high end guitars and his last one that he really really liked was a Larrivee. I've played it a few times, and it's a solid guitar. Way over my price range though.

Edit.. If I where to buy a new guitar, it would be this one.

  6. I ran a very similar 25Hp evenrude on my tinner for years.

It didn't have the level someone mentioned earlier that you could flip up/down for shallow water. So I found a place that I can wedge a piece of wood, and tied it to a rope. When I came to shallow water, I would manually pull the motor up with one hand, and jam the piece of wood in with the other hand. Worked like a champ, and cost me about 5 cents....

  7. I love these replies guys! I'm getting some great ideas.

I just applied for a hospital job that's part time.

And the guiding company from Colingwood called me to set up some training and orientation.

Plus a random company saw my resume online and contacted me for an interview today. What are the odds eh!

    It was a great day!!

  8. They are a hoot eh!

I've almost rolled mine over many times.. SO you need to be very careful on the ice. And chunk of ice, or bump seems like your going to flip over!!

But even after a winter sitting, Choke, prime three times and a half pull on the chord, and away she goes!!
