  1. Attaboy, Fishingnut. Gotta keep looking after the short term credit items.

A little longer out, make a coupla plans involving some of your industry contacts, using your experience and goodwill. Get on the phone, and make some in person calls.

What are your experience and skillset items? What industry we be talkin? You will soon switch into a search mode, where every conversation you have works towards your goal. Like this one, for e.g. You could have mentioned your field of expertise, btw.

Best to you, Fishingnut. We all gotta sell, everyday.

  2. If you do use the blind, take some decoys with you and set them up. Should keep an area of ice all to yourself.

Yup give that guy plenty o room, just like the dude I saw on the bus wearing a grass skirt, rasher of bacon around each ankle, a sharks tooth necklace and a HUGE wad of bubblegum on his forehead.

  3. I wear a pair of Sorels that are 36 years old. I've replaced the liners and laces, of course, but the leather uppers and rubber bottoms are still working. I put a whole tin of Dubbin into those boots in the first coupla years, and the leather is still soft, supple and waterproof. I've worn these boots icefishing for decades, exclusively walking and sitting out on the ice all day.

I recently cut a foot bed liner out of closed cell foam, used for packing material. That will make them so warm I might have to take them off from time to time.

Pack boots are definitely the warmest for icefishing, and those Kamiks look deluxe. They don't do well treking over heavy terrain tho, and the hiking hunting style of the Rockies would be much better for that, with more support, tread, and a smaller outline.

  4. WB, Thomas. Sry to hear about your day, but at least you're young. I used to comfort myself years ago by telling myself that there were at least 500 folks within 5 miles that are dealing with the same type of problem as me. Suck it up and move along there, buddy.

You can't just stop posting whenever you want, btw.

  5. Ol' Yeller will be eating out of the freezer, Roy, if dinner would be Glen's catch. Somehow, I fear that all those fishies got away. Took em quite a while, and it was a helluva walk....

If that were me, I mighta kept those sweet crappies and served em up with some nice deep fried potatoes.
