  5. Just got back from a full day of fishing lower buckhorn. Me and the guys started throwing spinners, traps, and other faster presentation lures but the fish weren't very active. We slowed things down and ended up catching 8 Large mouth all on white senkos. Not the most exciting type of fishing but it was good getting out on the water. None of the bass were super big, 2-3lb at best. Nothing really worth taking a pic of.
  6. thanks JohnnyBass. For those that fish lower buckhorn alot, do you have better luck with bright colours (ex: chartreuse) or more subtle/natural presentations?
  7. Hello, I'm heading to lower buckhorn tomorrow and would like to know if the water is considered clear or stained? thanks
  8. If its this Friday your going, bass are not in season yet.

  10. I love the way wakebaits look in the water but I've never caught anything on them yet. So, I'm really glad to read this post. I'll have to give them another shot
  11. I was at scugog last night and two co's in a pickup truck showed up. It was cool to see them out doing there job, I actually walked up to them wanting them to ask me for my licence. Really nice guys, I was starting to think theese guys were a myth, I've been fishing for many years and that was my first time ever seeing them. It was funny to see some of the white bucket crew get nervous, hope they had there licences. Anyone had any bad experiences?
  12. Yesterday they were deffinately blown out.
  13. Great stuff, been using it since it came out, never any issues.
  14. continued.... Ive been trying the bluffs for the last two weeks and have had no luck, am I too early or too late? From reading your post it sounds like you know your stuff, any tips you can give? Just so you know, Im not a lurker and I practice catch and release, just thought I would mention that. Thanks in advance......Shawn.

  15. Hey Ben, I just read your post on oos pike and agree with you 100%. I have a question regarding brown trout, I hear this time of year they come in really shallow to feed and from what you were saying in your post it sounds like you agree. I fish for bass and pike most of the timemost of the time and have never really tried fishing for browns before.

  16. Hey there, hope you plan on spending a lot of cash, some of those techniques will need specific rods with the right specs and reels with the right gear ratio. You will get different answers from different people, so do your research and figure out what will work best for the techniques you will be useing. You dont need a set up for every technique because some will use the same set up. Goodluck on your research, I like to get a lot of info from this site(sent you pm), its not Canadian but there is still a great amount of good info there, expecially bass fishing.
  17. This sunny weather got me itchin to get the line wet. Are perch and other pan fish open to catch at simcoe yet? TIA
  18. The reels I have are brand new, I want to try upgrading with better bearings, I hear there are some out there that make a huge differnce.
  19. I'd rather do it my self, from what Ive heard its really simple. Might be a good idea to see if they sell them though. Thanks
  20. A freind of mine ate a fish eye for fifty bucks we told him in order to win the money he had to chew, swallow and keep it down, the look on his face was priceless. He won the money, I was shocked.
  21. Thanks for the info, I already checked that site out, was hopeing to find somewhere local. There for curado100D's
  22. Can someone tell me where I can get bearings to do an upgrade on my reels, has anyone ever done this and were you happy with the results? Thanks in advance for you help.
  23. I have an old chronarch bantam, it was my first caster bought many years ago. This reel has been on alot of fishing trips and has the scars to prove it. I love this reel and just can't seem to part with it, I feel it out performs alot of the newer reels out there on the market today. With that being said I'm looking for some helpful advice and tips on painting reels (baitcaster). If anyone out there has taken on such a project and might be able to assist me with some advice that would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.
  24. With all this nice weather we've been getting, its time to get out there and catch some soft water pike. Has anyone had much luck yet, I was out a few days ago for an hour and managed to catch one and also had a follow. It was great to get out after that long winter we had (joke). One thing I noticed is the water levels being really low, I wonder how thats gonna effect the fishing, I have a few fav spots I like to fish on sunny days where the pike come in and take in the sun, this year there almost too shallow, looks like Ill have to explore and find some new spots. To the people who have had the chance to get out there, what has been your lure of choice?
