2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4X4 Diesel
bassassin replied to Steve's topic in General Discussion
toureg v6 diesel. Buddy works at Yorkdale VW... 1100km on a $100 tank and diesel is $.10 cheaper then gas... he pulls a 24ft cuddy cabin with it. and takes it in some sticky areas to fish smaller lakes. It all comes down to preference. but believe me all the suvs can get you where you need to go. if you want the best bang for your buck Liberty CRD that common rail diesel is the crap! ask anyone that frequents europer they are everywhere and can handle anything just service them when required in the manual and there is no reason it cant get you to a half mollion km's. then calculate over that distance how many $$$ you saved on fuel? guarantee the savings offset the cost and then some... -

So just got off the phone with cmc electronics about my GPS (Lowrance Global Map 330 c) which will no longer turn on. CMC takes care of lowrance much like the old lowrance office on Matheson use to do, which was taken over by Navico, which is no longer there. anyways back a couple of years ago you could bring your unit in and they would either fix it or provide you with a newer version at a discounted price since you were a faithful customer. Well times have changed long story short they dont support this product anymore or the puck style antenna apprantly, so we have a paper weight formerly known as a gps. and no they will not get you into a new unit at a discounted price so long story short they cant do anything for use, thank you Lowrance for friggin nothing, and hello hummingbird! just wanted to complain.....For a GPS used 100 to 150 times to fail completely, a little disapointed....

A Ray of Sunshine, and hope for those who still suffer

Inspiring. We go the first 13 to 18 years of our life without willing puting toxins in our system and for many people looking back those are the greatest years of their life! its a very sad dark hole some people willing jump into due to divers reasons but its a very slippery hole to climb back out of, kudos to all of you who have struggled and succeeded and also kudos to those who continue to struggle the juice willl be worth the squeeze! Hats off to you all, keep hope alive.... -
was in Philly this week that is an impressive waterbody for sure!
-
fees that are not affected by consumption shouldnt be factored into the cost per kwh. These fees are there even if you turn of your main breaker ie. no consumption!
-
The solar lights arent free because you have to pay for the distribution charges of being a electricty purchaser and many other charges.... We are very naive as consumers, sure keyboard warrior!
-
CHUCKS RIGHT! Freindly advise buy cfl's and wait for the cost of leds to continue to plummit! All the big guys: GE, Phillips, Sylvania are dumping billions! in research and development in LED's so you can expect the price to continue to decrease!!! Just wait it out a touch longer Entropy... The spirals will do you just fine till then!
-
variables on your bill that are not affected by consumption such as many of the fees not highlighted on your bill but grouped together under the name of distribution for instance dont count because they are the same regardless of how much you consume, thus, you cant just use the total cost of the bill since many of the fees are there even if you turn of your main breaker to the house! Remember you are trying to calculate the cost per kWh here.. fees that are a constant on every bill cannot be affected by changes in your usage pattern thus they donot apply as a cost per kWh.

TORONTO HYDRO CURRENT ELECTRICITY RATES Electricity rates as of November 1, 2012. Regulated Price Plan Tiered Pricing 7.4 ¢/kWh/first 1,000 kWhs used per 30 days 8.7 ¢/kWh/remaining kWhs If you're on Regulated Price Plan Tiered Pricing, your consumption in kilowatt hours (kWhs) is separated into two price tiers under the government's Regulated Price Plan. Customers will be charged one rate for the first 600 kWhs of use per 30 days, while electricity consumed in excess of this threshold will be priced at a different rate. The price threshold (the amount of electricity consumption that is charged at the lower price) will change twice a year for residential consumers. The price threshold will be 1,000 kWhs per 30 days during the winter season (Nov. 1 - Apr. 30) and 600 kWhs during the summer season (May 1 - Oct. 31). This allows consumers to use more electricity at a lower price in the winter. For more information visit the Ontario Energy Board's website. Regulated Price Plan Time-of-Use Pricing 11.8 ¢/kWh Highest Price (On-peak) 9.9 ¢/kWh Mid Price (Mid-peak) 6.3 ¢/kWh Lowest Price (Off-peak) If you're on Time-of-Use rates, your consumption in kWhs is separated into three periods. Customers will be charged 11.7 cents per kWh in the Highest Price (On-Peak) period, 10.0 cents per kWh in the Mid Price (Mid-Peak) period and 6.5 cents per kWh in the Lowest Price (Off-Peak) period. View more information about Time-of-Use rates.

i better call all my colegues at the LDC and OPA and tell them they are wrong and you are right i guess !!! LOL! look up the cost of elecricity when calculating energy savings...
-
electricity is $.10-$.11kWh not $.20 but nice try! some of my competitors in the industry try to use $.13kWh to help justify paybacks but $.20 is crazy but then again today is 4/20! also 120 lumens is equal to a birthday candle dont wate your time with any led less than 5 watts! To get 800lumens out of an led you are definitly at least 10 watts/$20-$30 range at the cheapest! either stick with cfl or Irishfields idea is probably more to your budget absolutely 0 consumption!
-
just go with a spiral cheap and low consumption! For the price you think you are going to get an led $8 or less, will not happen! I make my living with energy efficient retrofits etc. You are going to have to spend at least $15-$20 for something half descent (cree chip LED) Alsoquick side note the lifespan rating for leds isnt to average point of failure, it is a rating till the lamp hits 70% of the original lumens output!

I hear the lake trout fishing is great on Lorimer, congrats on the purchase. i read the bylaws and it says there is a 30 day limit on trailers. The staff at the Whitestone office including the building official are phenominal and go out of their way to help you. They even put me intouch with whitestone resort who were giving away their 2,3 and 4 bedroom cottages for free! the only catch was you had to bring them to your site which costs 20k+... Im hoping to clear the lot and install a driveway this year spring/summer theres a guy on my street there with a gravel quarry and equipment that most people go to, but if Skip is still willing to help and the price is right then he's my man and he should be yours too!

Ice thickness??? 3"+- -
Went to simcoe on Sunday Jan 27th. 18v dewalt connected to the auger got us through 11" on solid black ice! brought out the newly engineered homemade hut 4'x8' but i made it collapse down to 4'x4' fits on a trailer hitch cargo carrier. Fishes 3 guys with 2 holes per person! Only 2 of us on the outing but it was non stop action the whole time. First lures down 2-11"ers right away. I set the hut up in a way that our spread of 4 lures go across the channel so any fish cruising will see it! 8 feet apart we had to hammer finished williams spoons calling the fish in, the inside rods were drop shot long shank small hooks with 3" shiners. Just a single dark split shot on bottom. the hook is only 6" above the shot. Total count for the 2 of us in 7 hours was 150+ perch 70-80 over 9" the rest were 8" and under lost several large fish im assuming they were gaters.... and landed a 5lber. kept 50 over 10" and the pike all boneless fileted... About 15 were over 13" and 1 @ 14"+ sleepy The biggest yellow belly of the day Esox Lucuiose (pooched the spelling on that one) ignore the writing on the wall, my friends are morons! Total creel at the end of the day! Thanks for reading... Also notice the sping loaded and normal hinges halfway up the side walls? thats where the hut breaks down, same setup for the centre point of the floor.
