  1. Saw a pair of huge eagles on the Larry yesterday... Not bald eagles tho... But they were huge.... Going at it with an osprey... The eagles made the osprey look like a sparrow
  2. Thanks sinker I'm just being paranoid with the new motor...
  3. How you liking the new boat?
  4. Nice catch... I fish clear water also... Really tough for figure 8s... Usually my follows are 10 feet behind the lure as we as 10 feet under it... So you usually don't see them till it's too late...
  5. 2 things... My pb would make page one...woot woot...lol... 7.5pb/3.4kg And anybody else see the jan 1st pattern.....?
  6. i was wondering what some of you do when running your outboards in freezing temperatures..... any tips or tricks? i have a brand new yamaha and want to make sure i do whatever i can... i dont have a garage to store it in... now with my yamaha... there is a garden hose flush attachment on the side just below the cowling... can i pump RV antifreeze through this attachment after each winter use? i figure i could rig a hand pump to the fitting and pump the antifreeze through the entire motor... any thoughts on this? im planning on contacting yamaha and asking them the same questions... thanks mike
  7. Good read... Lots of really good info there Thanks...
  8. Well... I think we all learnt that jackpots are great lures if you don't want to land your trophies....
  9. what i meant was... is there a portable ice kit for your garmin? so you can use it instead of buying a vexilar... my humminbird was capable of being portable and use an ice ducer.... so i sold my vexilar to buy the portable pack and ice ducer... now i have sonar... flasher... and gps while ice fishing.... and all my waypoints from open water season to hit during ice season... and i only have to know the settings for one unit... no regrets
  10. Do you have a boat with sonar capable of using a portable pack and ice ducer? I sold my vex and use my humminbird 597ci hd di on the ice and love it....
  11. 2 ways to look at it... In my opinion... First 2-3-4 days of cold is a cold front... Wich shuts fish down.. Somewhere during day 4-5-6 I call it a cooling trend... And they start feeding up... Otherwise the next 3 months would be considered a cold front... But during the first few days of cold it helps to slow down... And Downsize your lures.... Maybe even slip a bit deeper where temps are more stable... But be ready for the bite to come back strong.... Cause now they wanna start getting fat for winter....
  12. I like to do things a bit different... Fellas... But the guys are right... You shouldn't need 3 oz in still water..... But I wouldn't go under 2oz...
  13. However deep the weed edges are... That's where there will be active fish...
  14. Thanx for all the help... Between you guys and google I think I got it now... Just want my cabelas guidewear to last as long as possible under the abuse I put it through...
  15. cabelas sells this kit.... http://www.cabelas.com/product/Nikwax-Tech-WashTXDirect-Wash-In-Fabric-Care-Twin-Pack/1096193.uts?WTz_l=RI%3BIK-983053 just looking for personal experience
  16. So... I was wondering how to clean gore tex rainsuits properly... And I was also wondering if there is any treatment/spray that should be applied...? It's for cabelas guidewear.... Thanks
  17. Walleye.... There great just the way they are...
  18. I appreciate all the kind words fellas... And I want to thank all of you who have fished with me for giving me the chance to show you how much I love the sport... As well as what I can do on the water... I am lucky to have met you all...
  19. Power pro has never let me down... I like 10 pound test for trolling Crankbaits because the thinner line helps the lure dive deeper.... For drifting or trolling spinners/harnesses I step up to 30 pound test... For abrasion resistance... And for jigging I like 6 pound fireline in hi vis yellow ...
  20. It actually wasnt bad in the islands.... Lotsa south in that wind... So we fished the south side of the river...
  21. That can happen when your night fishing in 30+km winds and trying to land a walleye on the other side of the boat and drive.... ALL WITHOUT A NET!!!!!! First time I've ever forgot my net...lol
