  1. Upo at the bow... I often fish from the bow and power with the trolling motor... so I suppose i am "navigating" from the console and the bow
  2. Hey folks, I only have one unit with the card loaded up on one of my units (the unit up at the front). Do you guys run cards in all of your units or just select ones? Thanks!x
  3. Hey Crowman, that is what I was using when I noted the issue I brought up. So the south bank is Z15? Weird if that is the case, IMO. Where the dividing line? Hard for MNR to enforce the reg, I'd think
  4. Hey guys, Might hit the top of Sparrow this week (Maclean Bay to Morrison Landing) and I believe that stretch is all still Sparrow Lake proper, but at some point those waters become Severn River water and the Zone is shared between 15 and 16. Not sure why the Ministry did this?! So if I sniff around further downstream (west) and now I am in the river, what regs do I observe? I am targeting pike and walleye. Where Sparrow ends and Severn begins is not clear.. but if it was clear, the regs say 15 and 16. Thanks for clarification!
  5. I recently bought the annual provincial parks pass and raised that I can use any of the boat launches. I think I'll try Sibald Point PP. That'll put me on to the Virginia Beach area
  6. Hey folks, Thinking of targeting some Simcoe Perch this May. I would like to know general areas and depths, not your honey holes, but just some direction where to begin. I am assuming they are shallow at this time of the year? Thanks!
  7. This one gets good reviews and won't break the bank... Scotty mount
  8. Now to buy a mount - The Ram mounts are pricey. I am seeing generic ones on amazon, marketplace and cabelas.. I am going to buy two as my other finder is mounted to the basic mount that comes with. What do you guys have on your boats in terms of mounts?
  9. Don't mean to make this political but it's the cbc. They are Teflon
  10. I did! Last year I decided to dedicate more time to musky and made sure all the above items are on my boat!
  11. Well said, Akrisoner!
  12. Yeah it has the built in transducer. But it's an older terrova and the transducer doesn't read DI/SI. Hoping to link them up thanks
  13. I'll double check box but am pretty sure it's SI
  14. I caught a massive pike (largest of my life) in the Toronto Islands/harbour area several years ago. No pics, no measurements and quick release - but it had to be a low to mid 40s.. and 20Lbs or so.. we caught several more that day that we 6 to 12lbs.. a great fishery... That guy claims that fish is 20lbs. No way.
  15. I ended up buying the Humminbird HELIX 7 CHIRP MEGA DI GPS G4 at Cabelas in Barries yesterday. Will be setting it up over the next week on the boat. And now to decided on where to set it up - bow or console. I currently have. a Helix 5 up at the bow. I have been fishing mostly at the bow with the boat I bought last year. My Terrova is a bit older so doesn't have i-Link. I am most likely going to set this up a the bow and put the 5 at the console. Looking forward to exploring the world of Side Imaging! Thank you to you all - as usual, always helpful and generous with your input and expertise! I am sure I will have some questions along the way!
  16. I wonder why the have a "network" option? It cost more too...
  17. Di you guys have the 'N' models (networking) ?
  18. Oh wow! These things are like mine sweepers! 😁 Thanks
  19. Another question I have is should I get a "Network" model? I am assuming this means that the different units on your boat can be linked wirelessly ? Can they be linked via hard wire?
  20. So with those hummingbird helix models, if I get the Mega SI how far out does the side image capture? Are we talking several feet? More than 15'?
  21. Yes going for SI for sure.... 7" but I'll see if a 9" comes up. Might be a bit too big Do you think the "mega" series hummingbirds are worth the extra $? I am sticking with hummingbird as I have a terrova and I am already rigged up with a Helix Thanks for the input
  22. This is what I assumed regarding DI. I just figure that what is under my boat is more important. Although, I guess if you're casting to either side of the boat, SI is useful. Correct me if I am wrong. that's good to know that the units that have SI also have DI. thank you!
  23. It seems that this unit has both.. on sale. I am already rigged up with a helix 5 and a terrova. May consider this Helix 7
  24. Interesting... thanks for the response. I always figured DI was more important. I have neither now. Just shopping for one or the other. Can you get both in one unit without taking out a second mortgage?
