  1. Lol!!!
  2. Wow!
  3. So a 7'10" isnt that long for figure 8s?
  4. I've got a trolling rod but no line counter. I might bite on this rod. He's asking $150
  5. came across a 7'10" St Croix Bass X Heavy Power rod. I and wondering if a rod like this would be adequate for Kawartha and Halibirton Muskie since fish in these waters are smaller than Geo Bay, St. Larry, etc.. I mostly fish waters with smaller musky.. 7’10” St Croix Bass X Heavy Power
  6. Nice fish... I suppose because it isn't a monster fish it would be more likely to hit a smaller lure? Not sure how it works...
  7. What about the west side of 69 toward Georgian bay? Any lodges/cabins/locations worth checking?
  8. I contacted them yesterday... looks nice. Unfortunately they close Thanksgiving weekend.. We are learning that a lot of places close thanksgiving. Maskinonge resort is open though. oct15 will be their closing. Looks like we might end up there - it's literally right next to the provincial park. My buddy loves to hike and they have trails there so he'll be happy if we end up there. Lakair is just south of there. My feeling is that either the West Arm or the Upper French will be better fishing than Memesagamesing Lake. And it seems that several of you are saying as much. Bigger system, more variety, great scenery too. Maskinonge is a bit more expensive than some of the other places but the cottages are nice.
  9. All fixed. Starts up no prob. And yes, kill switch.
  10. Just checked maskinonge resort also. Nice cottages and reasonable price, too. Close to lakeair. Not sure if this spot would be much better than Memesagamesing?
  11. Any opinions on Memesagamesing Lake?
  12. multi species... but pickerel would be nice!
  13. We have a last minute opportunity to hit one of these areas in mid-Oct (13-16). Matthews Little Portage Camp has availability on Lake Memesagamesing (which I have never fished but heard some decent things about it). We have also considered the West-Arm/French River system... distance-wise about the same. Between the Loring area and the French system, which would you say has the better fishing? We camped at Grundy in late June and did pretty well considering we've never fished it.. and that was just off the highway. Any recommendations for cabin rentals along the French system? Thanks!
  14. No, I guess I don't... yes, there is a kill switch.
  15. Not sure but the previous owner did retrofit this motor...it was a manual start that he converted to an electric and could very well have added a kill?
  16. Yes, relief! $7 fix!
  17. Figured out the problem! toggle switch is fried!
  18. I assume you are referring to Pigeon Lake north vs south end? If so, I agree. The lower end is a swamp! I'm not into the thick, shallow weedy water. I fish the weeds but prefer weed edges, pockets etc, adjacent to deeper water. I have just had more luck.
  19. could the kill switch assembly be fried? I guess cable to the starter will help me with process of elimination.
  20. cleaned the connections as best I could last night.. still nothing.. going to now check if this is the solenoid and/or the starter... not sure if this thing has a fuse - I cannot find it so I will have to dig up a schematic of the motor to get. abetter understanding of where everything is located!
  21. Thanks for your help, guys... gonna start by cleaning the connections. I guess some sandpaper would do the trick?
  22. Absolutely no sound at all... no click - it's almost as if the battery is completely dead. It's not.. We checked with another battery.. charged it up, etc..
  23. Starter was not acting up before.. motor has run well all summer..Starter rope no longer exists. So the switches can just go on those things? If I had to do process of elimination, should I start with starter?
  24. So took it out on the weekend and ended up having to use the electric all day.. 25 HP Evinrude (electric start).. It was converted to electric start by previous owner. It'a an older motor (late 70s). Buddy of mine says I need a new starter as battery seems fine and is charged. It doesn't even turn over. Why else could it be? Thanks!
  25. Just came across a used Revo Toro baitcaster with 8' Veritas. Would that be a bit to light duty?
