Glad I live in Yellowknife.
Gas has been stable @ $1.219 for a long time.
Would rather have it sit at one price than go up and down like a cheap hooker!!!!

My friend here at work knows most of the victims. Her family owns a farm about 10 minutes away from this intersection.
Her parents used to billet players as well until they got to be in their late 70's early 80's.
Her sister and brother in law still run the farm today.
Wait for the accident reconstruction crew to figure out what happened.
There obviously needs to be some safety upgrades at this intersection as there have now been 21 deaths in just two accidents.
It has stop signs and flashing lights but could either use rumble strips on approach to the signs or traffic lights.
I think rumble strips would be fine as they warn of the stop ahead.

I was looking at the overhead pictures, I'm just guessing but it looks like the bus driver missed a stop sign and hit the trailer.
Doesn't matter now, a terrible thing that happened, very tragic.
Nope. The bus was on HWY 35 which is a main highway.
The truck was on HWY 335 which is a secondary highway and had stop signs.
"The semi-trailer would have had to yield to a stop sign before crossing over the highway that the hockey bus was travelling on."

Just noticed that there were 666 posts in this thread.
Gotta fix that post haste!!!
Was out at the cabin doing a little work today. The temps are getting up into the minus single digits and the sun is shining.
Took out some lumber and all the chimney pieces for my stove. Got the cement board installed but have to wait for above freezing temps to do the tiling of the hearth. Then I can get the stove all installed although it will need to be removed when I install the posts for the stair railings and the river rock veneer behind the stove. That's a couple of years out.
They sure don't give the chimney fixin's away. Stuff is uber spendy.
I've got $1,200 into this pile of chimney and duct work.
Oh well, at least I'll have heat.

Hard to imagine how this can happen. 2 Professional drivers. In daylight. Was the weather bad?
Weather was clear and sunny.
They haven't said what caused it but it looks to me that the truck driver blew the stop sign at highway 35.
There doesn't seem to be any skid marks noticeable from the tractor trailer rig trying to stop.
Just speculation on my part. We will have to wait until the RCMP have finished their investigation to know what really happened.
If you can think about donating to the GoFundMe campaign.
