  1. Well last week I finally decided it was time to re-power the old boat.

There's nothing wrong with the 1991 Merc 90hp 2 stroke on the boat other than the fact it's temperamental in the cold and it guzzles gas. ;)

I tried to buy a new motor here in town but their prices are too high and they won't deal at all. I ended up searching the net for Canadian Merc dealers that would actually deal.

I ended up talking with Bridgeview Marine in Delta BC (one of their 3 locations) and got pricing on a new 2013 Merc 115hp 4 stroke, new controls and Mercmonitor eco gauge setup. Including shipping and taxes it's about $3K less than if I purchased here in town. <_<

So I will be saying goodbye to the trusty old 2 smoke.

The waiting is going to kill me!!!!! :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

Hopefully it arrives before the ice goes out. ;)

  2. Glad I stayed up and watched Detroit/Anahiem lastnight! What a 3rd period!

Yeah, it was pretty good hockey wasn't it. :D

I don't even have to stay up late to watch it. ;)

I do have to agree with Matt though.

The Sens did play a good game and their goalie was outstanding and reason they won that game.

The hit on Eller was a good hit, just had a bad ending.

    I hope he's doing OK.

Diaz should receive a beat-down from the rest of his team for that stupid pass.

  3. TJ

It's a thermostatically controlled water cooled OB.

Check for a water intake screen on the under side of the cavitation plate above the prop.

Pretty sure that's where it is on those.

It's in that area on my 4hp Merc.

    Can't use muffs on them.

I used a 6 gallon pail to test mine.

Need to keep a hose running into the bucket though.

  4. In the net?

Yes. My buddy has a commercial license.

I could get a personal use permit and net myself if I wanted to.

Things are different up here. ;)

FYI, there are only 16 commercial licensed fishermen operating on the lake.

The lake is 27,200 sq kms and 480 kms long by 109 kms wide.

It's also the deepest lake in North America @ 2,010 feet at it's deepest.

  5. Lake Trout that is.

    It's what's for dinner.

My BBQ specialty Dave's Fiery Texas Trout.

Drizzled with liquid smoke and then spiced up with a variety of Tex Mex and South West spices. drool.gif
