  1. i 'cheat' and open up the liftgate on my jeep. rear seats folded down, i see everything. also learned by putting my hand on the bottom of the steering wheel and just turning it the way i want the trailer to go. works for me.

short trailers, like you rent at uhaul, get me because of how responsive they are compare to the longer boat trailer i am used to.

I will admit that when I'm backing my boat into it's shelter I lift the rear hatch on my Pilot.

I can back into the shelter with the mirrors but do a better job of getting it centered looking through the back.

My shelter is 10'X40' and there is a foot or less on either side if I get it perfectly centered.

I like it centered so I can get to the back of the boat from either side. Even so it's a bit tight.

My snowmobile trailer is short and suffers from short trailer syndrome. ;)

When the fishing licence was introduced almost 30 years ago, every cent collected was to support fisheries management in Ontario . So WTH is this 2 bucks for?? :wallbash:

Yes it was promised and has been done.

What the crooks didn't tell the public was it was replacing current funding with the license fees.

So all the the original funding went elsewhere in the gubmint and the license $$$$ taken in are less than the $$$$ they took away.

When introduced all of us anglers thought "GREAT" more $$$ for the MNR "I'm in!!"

But instead of the license $$$ being added to the then current budget it replaced it. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

  3. For those that drive a lot and are budget conscious take a look at Sailun tires. I bought a set for my buick this past summer on the recommendation of my tire guy in Oakville. He guarranteed me that I would be more than happy with them and even went as far as saying he would change them out for another name brand at no extra charge if I was not happy. Well, great tires, handle great, nice ride, great in the rain and are supposed to be pretty good in the winter. They mKe some nice looking winter tires as well. This is coming from a guy who never bought an off brand tire in 27 years of driving.

When I was driving from Grand Valley into the city every day for work I ended up putting a set of Cooper snows on my cars.

I was driving Honda Civics @ the time and the Cooper tires were inexpensive and worked great in the winter.

At the time they were about $280/set installed so I just left them on year round and changed them every second year as I was driving 70,000=KMS per year.

They even worked great up here in Yellowknife when I moved here.

  4. We are going to drop this motor down the 1 hole tonight and see what happend in the morning, I think we just need some air under this hull. Its "glued" down so hard that in a hard turn it almost pitched us right out of the boat. This thing rails corners lol

    Exactly!!!

You are unable to trim up without cavitation and because of this can't get the bow up to reduce drag.

Once you lower the motor you will be able to trim up higher and get more hull out of the water.

Hopefully one hole drop will do the trick.

Mine had the same issue when I put the jack plate on my boat.

Ended up having to re-drill the plate to get the motor lower.

It's still not as low as it should be so I'm losing a bit of performance.

I think if I get it another inch lower I should be able to get another 4-5MPH out of the boat.

I am going to have to remove the motor and jack plate and then re-drill new holes in my transom as it's currently as low as I can get it.

I plan to replace my transom's core at the same time as it's a little on the soft side.

  5. I just put a set of Hercules Terra Tracs on my vehicle this fall.

So far they seem like a good tire.

My previous 2 sets were Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors which I found wore out quite quickly.

They are no longer made which is why I switched brands.

  6. Don't know any one in Chitina, j ace.

Never watched that show but most of them were charged with fraud a couple of weeks ago for falsely claiming PFD $$$$ in AK.

It's good when the water's high and people leave.

The fish are still there and very catchable, they just move to different spots. ;)

When I was there in 2012 the river was so high that they closed the entire river to boat traffic for a week.

I still caught tons of fish walking in and was one of only 3 boats on the upper river the day it reopened. :good:

Can't say about what my friends think about the charter regs as most of my buddies have their own boats and those regs don't apply to private boats. Still a 2 fish any size limit for the private guys.

The crab boats are hiding in port right now as there is a wicked storm hitting the area this weekend.

Forecast was for 100mph gusts and waves 50+ feet. :w00t:
